I've seen a far more recent documentary than the movie that demonstrated that, in terms of the injuries at least, it was physically possible for one gun to have caused the damage done. That isn't saying there was only one shooter, merely that it was physically possible so the nature of the damage is not proof of more than one shooter.
But I'm not familiar with the JFK Trek story. I'm assuming it wasn't just a re-hash of CotEoF?
recently watched a new documentary with a new theory where it concluded it was a lone gunman but merely wounded JFK.. one of the agents behind JFK in the panic and haste to return fire slipped and blasted several rounds from his Uzi like machine gun...(this was of course immediately hushed up)
pretty much with JFK being saved early on due to the enterprise back In time somehow and then all Edith like problems with the timeline leading to Spock having to be the shooter at the end to recorrect the timeline (I think)
Isn’t that Red Dwarf?
I don't care how recent a fraud is, it is still a fraud. Connolly, for example, wasn't the target of the hitmen. The only reason he was hit was that he was in the line of fire and that means one shooter ahead of the car.
If I am presented with evidence, I don't automatically assume it is fraudulent. I have no strong view on whether there was a conspiracy or not.
I'm not sure how the JFK plot could work in Spock's death?
Well, Star Trek is already in a parallel universe (or alternate reality) vis a vis ours. There were no Eugenics wars in the 1990s, were there? Plus it's very likely (at least I hope so) that there won't be a WWIII within the next thirty years or so either.
WWIII Looking more likely to me.
What I mean is, I struggle to see how they could incorporate Spock's death into the plot in a way that had any kind of pathos.
There must have been countless fictions about the JFK's assassination, for example, there is a Quantum Leap episode where Scott Bakula is briefly inside Oswald's body, at the moment of the alleged shooting actually! For no other reason apparently than to confirm that, in the mind of whoever wrote that series, Oswald was the guy! We even see him take the fake picture!!! the one where Oswald's head has been glued over someone holding the gun! That really takes the cake!
It would be like saying that there were no special effects in "Jurassic World" and the Dinosaurs were real!!
Does anyone else remember when we were talking about TMP?
I still don't get why the first thing she told Kirk was that her oath of celibacy was on record. Do you have any idea?
The novelization said that humans are too weak, emotionally and mentally, to handle a relationship with a Deltan.
Don't remember if it was about telepathy or hormones/chemicals. Sorry.
If you want truly good, imaginative science fiction that includes as a plot inflection point the interruption of Oswald's shooting, and thus the survival of JFK, go read Gregory Benford's 1980 novel Timescape. (I assume, of course, that a spoiler for a nearly 40-year-old book is a very minor infraction.)
It was because Deltans are very open sexually. She was confirming to Kirk not only that she had no intention of having sex with Decker but that goes for everyone else too.
The TWOK novelisation confirmed that close contact with Deltans can upset human brain chemistry. It's how she can anaesthatise Chekov. I like the notion that there is a bio-chemical cause to Deltan abilities .
Actually, there were over 60 bullets fired from four different positions, and through a combination of JFK's powers as The One manifesting outside the Matrix stopping the bullets coming from the front by a grassy Ghillie suit wearing Noel Gallagher of Oasis standing behind the Wonderwall, Magneto using his magnetokinesis to deflect bullets from the side fired by Abraham Zapruder whose body had been possessed by a Quantum Leaping Oliver Stone trying to preserve the assassination and guarantee his fame as a filmmaker, and Daenerys Targaryen's dragons incinerating the sixth floor of the Book Depository Building with Patsy Cline in it with an old Italian bolt-action rifle, having faked her death in a plane crash months before so she could operate as a freelance assassin hired by both Castro and the CIA, most of the bullets were stopped.
Unfortunately, Scaramanga's tiny henchman Nick-Nack had been hiding inside the glove box of the limo the whole time and wounded Gov. Connally and fatally shot JFK with a single magic bullet from the Golden Gun. So the shot was coming from inside the car the whole time!
It's almost too plausible.
Yeah, I can see Decker stepping up as a Q-like figure and running that level of exposition past Kirk.
Actually, I might be more interested in seeing them exploring the massacre caused by Governor Kodos than JFK or is that too reminiscent of TNG'S Tapestry?
So IOW, you can't understand it if you don't buy the books.
Roddenberry wrote the novel himself.
Although it probably happened, I do not recall Ilia stunning anyone with her sex chemicals, but then again I have only seen the movie 40 times.
JFK seems like a man who would have been visited by a lot of time travelers, and eventually after punching enough of these time-nerds in the nose, and torturing them in his boat house, figured out that he has to die in Dallas '63, so any futureese bastard that says different is his enemy.
In a K. Dickian novel, Kennedy would have also been the shooters (the three of them) as well as Zapruder and Jack Ruby.
