Really quite amazing work here, except for the Borg transporter beam looking and sounding like a Star Trek transporter.

I thought the re-use of existing cels and sound effects was in keeping with the Filmation style. That, and it made me chuckle.

It is amazing how well the TAS music lines up with that scene.

This is amazing. They captured the style perfectly: the camera angles, the stationary faces with just eyes and mouths moving, all of it. The weird alien sitting at conn was nice reference, as was the pink Borg cube!

OMG!!! I was sitting there saying "please use the running and grappling shot!" And then Riker does it! I cannot tell you how much damned joy that short clip just gave me. I could watch a whole series of these. Amazing work!

A lot of affection for TAS is evident here. '

Best thing I've seen all day and I've seen some good stuff today.

I mean, it's perfect. Everyone has that slight Filmation smile. The eye movements as responses. The zooms to get the mouths out of frame. The Enterprise beaming sound for everyone. The stock movements. All you needed was one of the regular cast standing in for O'Brien because they didn't have the budget for everyone. :guffaw:And the Kzinti crewmember instead of Wesley!!!

That eye-shift shot cracked me up. "Perfect" is totally justified.

    Very nicely done.

Also served to remind me why I hate animation like this so, so much...

I imagine Stewart and Spiner would've been too expensive for such a project. I think the big thing is that Paramount simply wasn't interested in doing animation with their flagship product. See: Star Trek: Final Frontier.

It lacks one huge thing though: the ever recurring shrieking space bats! :D

As I recall they were flying dragons with tendrils instead of feet.

This is fantastically well done, right down to the purple Borg.

I recall reading a TNG animated series was in development during the 90's but never got beyond concept art. I'd love to see it.

I seem to recall that Rick Berman didn't have a very high opinion of animation and he felt that an animated TNG show would cheapen the franchise somehow.

Here's a video of an interview with the person who created the two+ minute clip:

I wonder who Rick Berman had pictures of and what they were doing that led to him having such an iron grip on the franchise for such a long time?
