My main complaint with the book is that it did not really go into the affect that the disappearance had on other people. After phones disappeared he was unable to contact his ex-girlfriend to see why she was late for their meeting but he never really noticed other people’s reactions. When he was on the bus he did see phone numbers were still on shop signs etc so people must have been aware what they were missing. I think the book would have been better if he saw an accident and realised people could not call for an ambulance or something like that.
