IDW Star Trek Ongoing...

She might be in the cover because, if I remember well, the green dude that is one of the red shirts aboard the enterprise (in the comics) is her brother. At least that's what Mike Johnson said a little while ago.

so I read ongoing #50 and it seems it's another mirror universe of the reboot (different from the one previously showed) even though mirror Spock for example has a beard (but that is a must  ) and mirror Uhura has a short hair cut here too..
anyway the part where Spock 'meets' mirror Spock is priceless

Wasn't Gaila killed in the '09 movie? Or are you suggesting a flashback scene in the comic?
Gaila's final fate was never addressed in the movie.

In the bonus scenes on the DVD, Kirk mistakes another red-haired Orion officer for Gaila, and tries to apologise, so she may have been safely aboard the Enterprise (or Regula One?) the whole time. We don't know exactly where Gaila was assigned in the 2009 movie, only that she grinned at Uhura when hearing of her posting.

And yes, there is supposed to be an issue coming up that focuses on the male Orion officer, Kai.

Just finished The Primate Directive. Have to say, that was really fun to read. My only complaint is that Uhura disappears part way through the story.

I'm glad someone is talking about it. I just got to read it, and thought it was very well done. Perhaps one of the more interesting ways of introducing a mirror universe, in my opinion.

I always enjoyed Mirror universe comics, and offer some fun interactions between counterparts. I highly recommend it.

I already love mirrorUhura

the artist did an amazing job with the characters especially the expressions on regular Spock's face, he captured the subtletly of Quinto's acting.

I too think that mirror verse is mostly fun when the two ships meet, I like to see the characters' reactions.
When they did the parallel lives comic where they meet a version of the enterprise where all their genders are reversed, the funniest thing was the two crew meeting.

Just read issue 52.. Omg poor Spock  between what happens in these issues and the last one from the green lantern crossover, he seriously needs a break

Anyway it was a good conclusion. These comics surely have that funny melodramatic tone tos had (some moments are involuntarily comical) in between more serious moments and themes.
