I sense a great disturbance in the Force...

^I have no idea who that is. The only two episodes of Torchwood I ever watched were the ones with James, for that reason.

Is that the guy that ended up
dissolved by the reactor coolant last season?
Yep, that's him.

He didn't seem too bright or great, character or actor so I wouldn't go by what he said. So heres hoping James will be back.
It seems as an actor he is actually quite in demand, between theatre and TV. He said he was off to do a theatre run, then back to Torchwood... but that could have just been to keep things under wraps.

yes i thought he was good as well, "Adam" was a good episode for him, being given the chance to play Owen in a different way

Season 2 was far better then season 1 and was one of the year's highlight for me along with Jericho S2.

I hope it wasn't a fluke and that they can repeat it with this shorter 3rd season. I feel TW will go for 4/5 mimimum so heres to a few more years to go :bolian:

I know it's not going to happen anytime soon, but I would love it if BBC America replayed the series starting in order and going from there. It's been a long time since Season 2 ended and I almost forgot what the finale was about. This thread is really getting me into a Torchwood mindset to actually watch some of it.

I must say I loved Season 2 after detesting Season 1. Why are there only 5 or 6 episodes this season? Budget cuts at the Beeb? I thought the season finale of Doctor Who hinted at Martha and Mickey joining Torchwood? Any word on new characters?

It's one story over five nights (called "Children Of Earth"). It proved a success for the recent mini-series "Criminal Justice" so hopefully it can be repeated again.

Barrowman has said that he's provisionally marked down time to shoot another ten episodes next year (though not officially greenlit yet), so that might mean another two mini-series or ten regular episodes.

Hmmm, so does this indicate that Twood and Who are doing something similar, eg. take a long break with a minimum number of stories for a "gap year" effect - only Twood is telling it 5 days straight while Who is doing specials spread out from this Christmas until Christmas of 2009 (and maybe a wee bit beyond)?

May god have mercy on arseholes, sorry, our souls.

...and Agyeman having chosen to stink up Law & Order instead.

Classy...

Ain't it grand?

Personally I liked Agyeman in Who, and, L&O UK is going to include Jamie Bamber too. At least the cast will look good.

On a related note, not to derail this thread, does anybody know if L&O UK will do a crossover episode with one or more of the US L&O's?

Kinda. They're having to do some cost cutting, to cover a number of things, a below inflation rise in the licence fee, upgrading to HD, Digital Switch Over, etc.

Also, the lower number of Doctor Who was to allow David Tennant to go off and do his RSC run.
Apparently Martha was to join Torchwood for series 3, but Freema got a job on Law and Order: London. As for Noel Clarke, it looks like he has a couple of movies in production, but one is in post, and the other has been filming for a while now, so depending on how big his roles are, I guess he might be able to fit it in.

Personally, I thought Burn Gorman was the best actor in the bunch. Sorry to see him go myself.

Quoted for truth, and I'm really glad Freema won't be the one to replace him. Hopefully whoever they cast as the new medic will be a decent actor at least...to be honest I still don't think we've seen the last of Owen.

Yeah, he may have played an arsehole (a lot of the time), but he played him well.

The old "if you didn't see the body, they're not dead" routine, eh?
