Trekker, I don't think I've really ever interacted with you here, but I can say that in the year I've been here, I've come to accept that you help make this place what it is. There are some days that people need to let loose and laugh (the topic of your taint hair springs to mind-I really needed a laugh that day), and there are days when people need to vent. Everyone's entitled to it. The risk that comes about by doing that here on a message board as large as this, is that there are certainly going to be a plethora of different opinions and personalities going up against what you say. Some people don't mind it, some people love it, some people think it is inappropriate to do in Misc. Honestly, as long as you're not breaking the board rules, who cares? Readers don't have to click on your topic if they don't want to. I'm glad you have the courage to do so, though, because I certainly don't.
In real life, I'm a caring, somewhat emotional person, but that can sometimes be overshadowed by my sense of humor, and my sarcastic mannerisms. My friends find most of what I have to say funny, and the remainder shocking...but the truth is, even though I may ponder about something like Ingrown Taint Hairs, or peeing in the shower, I don't have the courage to say such things to a large "audience". Much of my personality isn't shown in my posts here, instead, I reserve much of my humor, and any rants I have, to a smaller board I visit, Renaissance Next. I know the members of that board much better than most people here, so I feel more comfortable ranting and raving to them. Perhaps you'd encounter less resistance if you did the same in some situations. But, you seem to have fewer reservations about voicing your opinion, so all the more power to ya.
I do agree with what others have said, that if you do truly feel unhappy with your life, then make changes for the better. But I really don't think that your posting habits need to be altered. When things start to change in Real Life...your posts may change accordingly. I enjoy them as they are, and I'll still enjoy them if they change.
