I officially began my journey through all Star Trek on October 9th...

That should not mean, that season 2 is this bad at all. Where are you exactly at the moment, you said 10 episodes in season 2?
There will come great episodes like "Dreadnought", "Death Wish" (i just mention a "special" appereances), "Investigations", "Deadlock" and "Basics".
In particular "Deadlock" i can recommend. Of course i won't tell you now something about it, but i will never forget as i saw this episode the first time. This episode is fantastic.
And then to Season 3 a big step forward in telling stories. And after this to in my opinion the best season of Voyager to Season 4. But i think in combination with DS9 it will take time to watch it all

I'm also fifteen, and watching through all of Star Trek(excepting TAS, although I may go back and see it someday). It pleases me to know that I am not taking this delightful journey alone!
For someone who usually has trouble getting into a TV series, Star Trek comes quite naturally. I am watching TNG at about the rate of one episode a night. It is a lovely way to end a lazy summer day and I always look forward to it.
I started watching TOS out of boredom a few months ago(it may have been longer than that, I am really unsure) and I was instantly hooked. After finishing up TOS I moved on to Star Trek I-XI, and am now enjoying TNG Season 4.

To be honest, I'm not digging Voyager. It's not terrible, I just don't find it very engaging. Season two has been pretty abysmal so far and I'm just ten episodes in. The characters, not interesting, nothing there to feel attached to (well, to be fair, I do like The Doctor, but that's it), the ship feels and looks good as new despite being attacked multiple times in multiple episodes, it feels like a watered-down TNG.

It's mediocre. I just wish there was a good episode here and there to keep me going but nothing has stood out so far.
Don't give up. The first half of season 2 has awful, weak episodes. (Elogium, Parturition, Tattoo :barf:) The second half is much stronger. And as TonyLeung82 already said, Voyager gets a lot better in Season 4. That season is to Voyager what Season 3 was to TNG. From that point on the Good/Mediocre ratio goes way up. (in my opinion).

IMO the cliffhanger for season 2, concluded in the first episode of season 3 (Basics Part 1 and 2) are quite good.

Which largely describes Voyager. It's mostly a mediocre slog. It does not have the ever increasing tension and excitement and just awesomeness that DS9 has. Voyager does get better. And there are some real gems scattered in there among the more middle ones. It does start to find it's own unique footing much more in season 4. Prior to that it does always feel like they are using leftover TNG plots and scripts. Often while just crossing out the original character names in pencil. Voyager has some of the all time best Star Trek episodes (Timeless and Year of Hell rank up there for me.) and also the franchises single lowest point. (You'll know it when you hit it. It's the one that will make you look back on the Dr. Crusher incest ghost as a happy memory.) (Actually in looking at an episode list, ummm you are going to hit that really bad one before you hit any of the good ones. I forget are you legal to drink where you live? Ah fuck it, do it anyway before during and after seeing that one. Once seen it cannot be unseen! Just remember when you hit it. You aren't just looking at a bad or even the worst Voyager episode. You are in fact watching the worst Star Trek episode, story or movie ever made. It's all uphill from there! Provided you survive.)

You should have Death Wish coming up. That one is one of the finer all around franchise episodes ever filmed. And the all time best use of a certain character.

I thought Twisted was great. I'd always wanted to see a Star Trek episode where people got lost on a starship and walked around in circles with dumb looks on their faces.

@Griffeytrek, I read that even the writer of THAT episode (Brannon Braga) is embarrassed by it.
That's true:
"(...) the one I'd just as soon forget is called "Threshold." That's the one in which Janeway and Paris turn into lizards. That's a real low point. I was trying something. I don't want to get into what I was trying to do, but it didn't quite work. It was my homage, I guess, to David Cronenberg's The Fly, but it really backfired on me. It was poorly executed by me". - See more at: http://www.startrek.com/article/brannon-braga-from-tng-to-terra-nova-part-1#sthash.YuAMdHdW.dpuf

Oh no, that sort of thing is kind of a pattern for Braga. "Evolution" was one of his as well. I think we have moved beyond "Trying more" and landed into the space occupied by weird creepy fetish.
Salamander nursery on Voyager too much for you? Salamander sex on the bridge? Odd splotches on the corridor walls that can't be removed? It would definitely avoid the reset button.

Haven't been on here in a few months, I'm glad this thread is still going. Loving the OP's enthusiasm at watching Trek for the first time.

Really, I thought they were talking about:
