What model was it, i hope it was a slim, they are fantastic models.
I'm one of those who will hold out for years until the price drops significantly before I buy one. I did buy an Xbox 360 when it came out and I really want a PS3 because I want to play Killzone 2 and Uncharted, but I aint going to pay what they are asking for it now.

Seriously though there are a handful of exclusive titles that I would like to play,
The Resistance series
The Drake series
Killzone 2
Heavy Rain
God of War III
My GF asked me if I had played the Drake game a few weeks ago and I told her it was a PS3 exclusive but it did look like a fun game to play, so I guess she said something to my Mom about it and presto, PS3 for Birthday.
As I said it was totally unexpected.
Yep forgot that one, GS is having a buy 2 get 1 free sale Saturday and Sunday so I'll be stopping by there in the morning.
Get Valkyria Chronicles (PS3), Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) and Persona 3 and persona 4 (both PS2).
Hell, Persona 4 alone made owning a PS3 worth it
This + Uncharted 2. Probably God of War 3 when it comes out.
Unfortunately, Resistance and Killzone are very average FPSes.
The PS3 version of Eternal Sonata has lots of improvement over the 360 version...

You should also look at little big planet, but don't be for one minute put of by the cutesy characters, you would be missing out on most unique games made in along time if you did, the game is just sublime in every way, and it just keeps giving, the free to play community level have produced some amazing game and level designs.
LBP, Uncharted 1 and 2, Infamous, MGS 4, PixelJunk Shooter...PS3 has a ton of great stuff. If you missed God of War, get the new release of 1 and 2 for PS3.
Well I picked up Resistance 1 and 2 and Uncharted 1
I wanted to get uncharted 2, infamous and Killzone via the B2G1F sale but one or the other Gamestops were out of them.
Oh well got 3 games to play for now, I'm about half way or so through resistance 1.
I can't play for too long because the setup of the PS3 controller cramps my hands after a half hour or so, I don't like it.
It just feels so clumsy compared to the 360 controller.
I wanted to get uncharted 2, infamous and Killzone via the B2G1F sale but one or the other Gamestops were out of them.
Oh well got 3 games to play for now, I'm about half way or so through resistance 1.

There's a 3rd party adapter you can use to plug in a 360 controller into a PS3. I have the obsolete non-rumble one, so I don't use it that much (I bought it right after they release the new one, go figures), but it works fairly well.
The only real problem is with games that use the stupid Sixaxis stuff, like Uncharted 1 for grenades and Killzone 2 for turning wheels. At that point, you're kind of stuck.

Yeah resistance has a part where different Chimera grab you and you have to shake the controller to get free, kinda lame if you ask me.
The PS3 controller also has a slicker texture to it and I feel like I'm gonna sling it out of my hands if I shake it to hard.
Might just have to look into the adapter you mentioned.
I also have to agree that the resistance game (or at least the first one, so far) is very average.
Gonna finish it then part 2, I'll move on to Uncharted after that, maybe I'll get lucky enough to find a good deal on a used part 2 by then.
Still wanna play Killzone 2 even though you say it's average and Infamous as well.
Honestly those are all I'm interested in playing for now.
I will be picking up Heavy rain day one and prolly the updated God of war series.
I have no interest in MGS4 as I've never played any of the others.
