I sort of agree. Even bad TREK episodes and movies tend to be better than most other cinematic or televised science fiction in this day and age. The franchise does have its complete stinkers and turkeys that even I and other hardcore fans have trouble sitting through without blowing our cookies over, but bad TREK is better than most of what passes for "good" science fiction and fantasy in this day and age.
