My thought on that is because of personal preference. Holodeck time is blocked. If you want to enjoy it to its fullest, & you also want to have something rather authentic or particularly unique to wear, or something you might even want to keep & use again, it would make sense to fashion it beforehand, to save actual holodeck time for play. I might also craft my programs & characters etc.. in my quarters as well, instead of standing there like a moron explaining it all to the computer before it runs
That would leave dweebs like Barkley out lol
Some things are debilitating professionally and should be treated with drugs for immediate, therapy and other training for long-term. Barclay's problems are more facepalm worthy. You don't drug everybody for everything.
On another topic...technically, Data should be named "Datum". As he's only one individual.
Oops, Ro didn't have 9 episodes. Forbes did though. She appeared in Half a Life as David Ogden Steirs daughterForbes? You mean Suzie Plakson?
It's actually surprising to me that she had more appearances than Q. Certainly didn't feel that way.
I've heard that accusation before, but actually, Schisms is going on during the night shift & so is Cause & Effect. A good deal of Night Terrors as well, I'd imagine. I bet there's other situations I'm forgetting, that fall outside that claim as well. Surely there are far MORE incidents happening on alpha shift, but it's also true that the majority of ship function & mission progression is taking place on those shifts as well. It's a lot less likely that you'll find trouble when you're more than likely not out there bothering to get mixed up in itEvery crisis or confrontation seemed to happen during the Alpha shift.
I wouldn't say that. The late 80s, early 90's was big on making television more educational. TNG was part of that and it continues to today. Not to mention the tons of Star Trek refernces (TOS, TNG, and the rest) found in later shows. It did shape part of the future landscape of television.
Hate the TOS uniforms that the woman had to wear, I know the real reason for it but you have to come with some twisted logic for an in universe reason
I think this is a great point!
So many episodes in the series have crew members go through incredibly traumatic experiences with no real repurcussions. No PTSD, no anxiety, no depression...Picard is tortured by Cardassians and is allowed to just stroll back to command of the flagship, he gets assimilated and...de-assimilated...and just mosey's on back to the bridge. They all must have nerves of steel.
Oh I get that, just trying to think of a valid in universe reason why the female uniforms went from the flight suits of ST ENT, the tops and trousers of The Cage/Mengarie, to the mini skirts of the 2260's to the one pieces of the ST TMP and the Maroon military ones of ST WOK etc lolIt's fiddly, but given at the time the mini was seen as a feminist statement and a rebellion against a patriarchal society...and given it turns up again as fashion cycles around, it's not so bad. Colour coded pants however make it odd. In universe...fashion is cyclical, so they came into fashion for uniforms for a while again. It's like nudity...nudity isn't always about sex, but enough of society thinks it is at times, that things like nudes in art, or certain styles of dress are clamped down on in different places and in one or another (or certain films)...the miniskirt isn't necessarily about being sexy or what have you in TOS...just a fashion, like tight trousers with flaring bottoms, or wraparound tunics for the men. I don't remember anyone making a thing about the minis in universe, they were just ...there.

Gag me with a spoon!Yoga is a vital excercise and bev and deanna seems to be good at. Why didnt they show More often haha
It's Worf's fault, with his damn Mok'bara classes lolYoga is a vital excercise and bev and deanna seems to be good at. Why didnt they show More often haha
But why did Worf's Mok'bara shirt cross over almost like a turtle neck, while Trio's was a deep plunge V neck??It's Worf's fault, with his damn Mok'bara classes lol
Because his is special, because he's a red-belt or red-collar master or whatever the heck the reason is for him to have a red band on half his collar. Everyone else has a V-Neck, & they have a white band on half their collar. Troi's (much like anything she wears except her uniform) has a slightly lower neckline than the other students. Maybe Betezoids have gills on their boobs. That would explain a lot of her fashion choices, & go a long way to explaining why she became a fish in GenesisBut why did Worf's Mok'bara shirt cross over almost like a turtle neck, while Trio's was a deep plunge V neck??
