I found this Trek-tacular thing at the grocery store today!

That's cool. Thanx!

I'm a 48 year-old man who bought a box of cereral for the prize inside. Bought Frosted Flakes yesterday and got the engineering badge. :( I was rooting for the command badge. So, being the mature individual I am, I tried again, today. Bought a box of Froot Loops. AND THERE IT WAS! Command badge! On only the second try! Made my day.

There's a t-shirt offer on some boxes. For so many proof-of-purchases (don't remember how many) you can send in for a t-shirt that looks like one of the uniform shirts.

Its nine (NINE!) proof of purchases. My wife said she won't love me anymore if I get one.
Is it nine proofs of purchase for that particular cereal, or for any of the participating Kellogg's cereals?

Because I have about seven boxes now from trying to collect all of the badges. Unfortunately, I've only been able to find two kinds (Engineering and Klingon). I now have 4 Engineering and 3 Klingon badges.

Actually it doesn't go by proof of purchase. There's Tokens on the boxes with the mail in offers. I think each one has a code too. My Eggo box with the plate offer has an E on the token and the box of Cheez Its I just got with the T shirt has a token with an S on it. So I think you actually need to have the right token for the right offer. But it makes more sense to just send a $10 check with one token or else your spending around $24 on cerial.

I'm hitting the stores this weekend to get two more boxes of Mini-Wheats. Maybe I'll score a command or science badge this time around!

I've seen the shirt offer now on Cheez-Its. I've already sent one in for a Kirk shirt from Mini-Wheats (they had the shirt offer, too), but I'm considering ordering a red shirt for fun.

Odd. While shopping last night, I could have sworn I saw a Star Trek cereal, not a tie in. It had red, yellow and blue marshmallows. :vulcan:
Maybe you did.

From this article, largely about a Verizon/Nokia tie-in:

Kellogg's Tony the Tiger, Burger King's ubiquitous King mascot and Esurance's animated Erin will appear in custom-created "Trek"-themed advertising as part of an estimated $50 million worth of partner promotions for the J.J. Abrams version of the classic property.

For one, Tony the Tiger gets into the spirit by flashing the "live long and prosper" hand sign on a national print ad. (There will be "beam up badges" tucked into such cereals as Apple Jacks and Froot Loops, and there's a limited edition "Trek" cereal with Starfleet insignia-shaped marshmallows).

Finally! I found a third badge. It is the Starfleet Command badge. I really like it. :)

I also got this printout with my receipt. It is a Star Trek promotional through the Bi-Lo grocery store. If I buy 10 participating (ST) items (Kellogg’s, Keebler or Sunshine Snacks) I can get two free movie tickets. Good for any movie. The catch is that I have to purchase all 10 items at one time and between the dates of 4/22/2009 – 5/06/2009.

Considering the average participating item costs upwards to $5.00, that could potentially be $50.00 just to get two tickets. That's a bit much to blow on one grocery visit for non-essential food items. I could just save that money and go buy two tickets (roughly $20.00).

Scored the engineering and command badges! Yay!

Now I only need the Klingon and science ones.

As I sit here with my proud Star Trek branded Cheez-It's - this thread is reminding me I don't really need to go back to the grocery store for.... OMG! a command badge in cereal....

Last night I saw a Frosted Flakes tie in where if you send in a certain number of box tops you get a TREK themed flash drive bracelet. Basically it is a black rubber bracelet with the command logo on it and a it separates to reveal a USB flash drive device.

I don't have a digital camera, otherwise I would take a pic for you. I did find some images online for you.

The box makes it look like there is a little pad for the badge to stand on, but that is not part of the toy.

Franklin, same here. I can't believe at 48 years of age I was digging through a box of Corn Pops for a toy prize with such great anticipation.

"You're only a kid once...." BS!

Just be sure not to wear that shirt when joining the Captain on an away mission. ;)

That would be it. I was starting to think I'd gone mental.

But, aren't we all a little coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs around here? :p

^
Especially if said Cocoa Puffs are laced with crack.

All the day's vitamins and minerals in one tremor-laced bowl.

Im wondering what every one got. If they got in any of the send away items. how many badges they got and so forth. So far i got every badge except the command.:(:scream: The extras Ive been throwing at the kids. I have way to many cereal boxes in the pantry. I also tried the Star Trek cereal. Its not bad. Pretty much like lucky charms. I sent away for a tshirt and the usb wrist band a ouple weeks ago. they still havent even cashed the checks yet. In a couple more weeks im ganna send in for 2 more t shirts. Gettin one in each color. So let us all know what ya got. Maybe pics of the t shirts too if ya got em yet.

But wait, there's more! I had completely missed the cereal promotions and a client of mine mentioned that she got a "Star Trek thing" in her Rice Crispies. So the next time I was in the store I picked up a box and looked at the back. "Hmmm..." I thought, "I'm only really interested in the command badge, but I guess any of the Starfleet ones would be cool." So I bought it and opened it, and there was my command badge.

Hmmm.. this must be like that lady that won the Powerball on her first-ever ticket felt like.

Again... Not fair! Got another box of mini wheat's. And still no command badge for me. :brickwall:I think I just might resort to ebay. probably be cheaper anyway than all those boxes of cereal.
