Yes, Jasmine and The First's apocalypses were definitely in competition with each other, because Jasmine didn't see hers as an apocalypse. She thought she was doing us a favour, bringing us world peace. In effect, The First was the Devil incarnate, while Jasmine was Jesus, a god come to earth. So they were really "opposite apocalypses."

We know already that Jasmine's plan was in competition with W&H's, who wanted to keep their apocalypse on schedule. W&H was also against the First's plan, which is why they gave Angel the amulet.

So many competing powers wanted to apocalyptify us.
