I finally got all of Trek on DVD!

I ordered TAS on Ebay. So my collection should soon be completely...er, complete! It was advertised as being brand new and sealed, so I hope the discs are of good quality. I bought pretty much all of my other Trek DVDs from retailers like JB Hi Fi, and would be annoyed if I had any problems with them! Fortunately, the ones I've watched so far are all in good nick (after having bought 700 Trek eps, the next stage is to find time to sit down and watch them all!)

I've got all of Trek on dvd and also! Well, my buddy does. His name is Netflix. But I can borrow from him at a day's notice anytime... :p
Same here. Definitely a savings of a few hundred bucks. Plus I'd be more inclined to watch the DVDs if I requested them from Netlix instead of just having them sit on my shelf.
Indeed. Those things aren't watching themselves, after all! :p

I sometimes think I'm a real mug; a marketing man's dream. I've spent so much on Trek over the years, not least on home video. I'm talking over and over again - VHS, LaserDisc, DVD, and now, and finally (not)... Blu-ray. The TOS Blu's are sumptuous though!

I've been working on my Trek DVD sets a lot. For close to 7 years I've only owned seasons 1 and 7 of TNG, but I kept up with all the movies. Than the past year or so I've gone nuts picking them up used on eBay and Amazon. Here's my collection so far:

TOS Seasons: 1 and 2, in the old box set that splits down the middle vertically. Hunting for the matching season 3 set for cheap.

TAS Seasons: 1

TNG Seasons: 1, 2, 4, 6, 7

DS9 Seasons: 1, 2, 3

VOY Seasons: 1, 2, 5, 7

ENT Seasons: 1

So I'm getting fairly close to completing everything finally. Enterprise is prolly my favorite series, but good god the Enterprise box sets (barring season 1) are really expensive, at least 40 or 50 bucks per season, compared to all the others I can pick up around 30, and usually I find them closer to around 25. Also, my first TOS season was 2 in that split box, so I've been trying to get the other two seasons in that same style to match. I finally got season 1 fairly cheap (23 bucks) but season 3 has eluded me for a decent price thus far.

I just completed by collection, recently. I finally found season one of TOS (remastered) for a decent price at Best Buy. I bought TNG, late last year, as the complete series 20th Anniversary collection. The packaging sucked but I put them all in a single zippered case and its much more convenient. I bought DS9, earlier this year, as the complete series off Overstock for just under $200. I slowly bought Voyager, season by season, as I saw them at Walmart and got them relatively cheap (around $20 per season or so).

I have yet to buy Enterprise or TAS. I haven't been in such a hurry with Enterprise because I see them everywhere and have even seen the entire series for less than $100 dollars. I'll probably get it before too long. I'm not sure if I'll get TAS anytime soon. I may do it so I can start coercing the kids into watching Trek. I've had all the movies for some time and enjoy the rewatch from time to time. I've made it a point to rewatch everything, started to at least, since I got a Bluray player around Christmas and a new flat screen. It is amazing how much better, even regular dvd's , look being played in a Bluray machine.

I hope you enjoy all the many hours of quality entertainment you now have.

Don't count out the animated series. It holds up surprisingly well.

Enterprise has been god-awful expensive every time I see a season 2 3 or 4. 1 is always cheap though. Hoping my next set I pick up is season 3 of Enterprise.

Mine is complete, except mine are all copies of the sets I borrowed from the library, but I bought the movies, the whole series of Voyager, Season Five and Seven of TNG and DS9 when it was still $120 a season. :(

Me too. I have spent so much on Trek over the years. I have every single Trek production (all series, all movies, and TAS) on DVD, still have a pile of Trek on VHS, have loads of books, action figures even, posters. Paramount must love customers like me

Are the Blu Ray TOS sets worth the upgrade? I have the 2007 remastered eps on DVD, but I would like to also have the originally aired eps in HD quality.

Oh yes, they're outstanding; a significant step-up from the DVD's. The PQ can be a little variable from episode to episode (sometimes scene to scene), but overall, it's extremely impressive - and always far superior to the TOS-R DVD boxsets, which I have also (destined for E-bay!). Don't forget, you get Dolby TrueHD sound as well, which while obviously not as impressive as a modern movie, is still audibly better than the DVD's when played back on a quality system.

I have all 6 series (including animated) and all 11 movies on DVD as well as TOS and the 11 movies on Blu-Ray. It's awesome to be able to say, I want to watch X episode from Y show's Z season and do it.

Yep. It is awesome, isn't it?;)

I have the same, but only on DVD, not the BluRays. I may consider double dipping on TOS and the movies (well, maybe not all of them, just the best ones)
