No way man, I'm slashing Janeway with Caithlin Dar. For Galactic Peace!

I'll take St. John Talbot for myself though. I'm going to reform him against his will and clean him up and improve him. It will be glorious.

    Ick.

Have Janeway doing the fan dance, or sashaying around the Bridge like Uhura did when she brought Scotty his lunch bag (those foil bags remind me of the ones you get at A&W when you order takeout Teen Burgers).

I think it was very sweet she bought him his lunch.

And really, I think they make a better couple than her and Spock.

(I feel like I should have whispered that..)

It seemed more genuine, less forced and less.... teeny.

She was probably looking after his health because Scotty was a fat old drunk.

    Jokes on her.

Montgomery probably tippled her life expectancy and he's still alive and kicking.

Agree R.Star.. not that I have anything against NuSpock and Uhura but can you see them together in the V era? I don't think they'd have much in common and how much fun kicking back with Spock would the older Uhura have? Just about, practically nothing.. hey at least Scotty would go all soppy hearted when she sang Beyond Antares and throw an arm around her, I can't see Spock doing that and I can see older Uhura wanting a more affectionate and friendly relationship. She's direct, she's warm, she's sexy, she's humorous.. really not what comes to mind for Spock.

I'm sure it is very exciting dating outside of your species when you're a 20 something cadet.

For me TOS will always have a special place in my heart, due to when I watched it, but I wouldn't say it is the best Trek (as the poll question assumes).

For me the best trek of all is DS9. TNG is second, though it is light-years behind. VOY takes third place (mainly due to the first three seasons, after which it went downhill). ENT is last, by the time they managed to do something decent with the show it was already over.

Some maniacs even date outside their gender.

It would be totally fascinating dating outside your species. I bet there are whole forums devoted to how to understand your Klingon mate etc..

During your first Spring of courtship did you thrown furniture at your mate?

Lesbian Klingons? They both throw furniture?

(Male) Gay Klingons must just scream poetry at each other?

Klingons are icky. I'm sure there would be plenty who would go for a Klingon but not me. All that posturing and yelling, and of course the actual injuries.

    Vulcans, too much hard work.

    Andorians, too adversarial.

Bolians, this seems good but there's the bowel rumours.

OMG I would just be a total weak ass at inter-species dating and end up with some round shouldered Bajoran!

Lets just hope the Symbionts don't carry any STIs, just imagine all the partners some of them have had!

I wouldn't mind a Vulcan hunk. Just think about it; seven years of pent up sexual energy, add their increased stamina and strength, throw in the intimacy of a mind meld and you would have one hell of a time--probably enough to last you for seven years :)

Not to delve too much into sexual roles and stereotypes, but there might be Klingon equivalents to "butch" and "femme" identities. Maybe the more "manly" Klingon woman is more the poet, while the more "womanly" throws more furniture.

I can see where dating a full Betazoid would be a bit unnerving too. They'd know everything you're feeling, everything you're thinking, and everything you're about to say before you do.

One of my favourite lines from Coupling.

"Do you know what would be the best way to wipe out all of human kind if you were a space alien with a special kind of mind ray...? Make all women telepathic. Because if they suddenly found out about the kind of stuff that goes on in our heads they would kill us all on the spot. Men are not people - we are disgustoids in human form."

But that would only be from shock and surprise, Betazoid women grow up knowing that men have pornovision which they don't know how to switch off.

In the Voyager forum of all places, why limit yourself to A/B quadrant species? Instead of only getting it once every 7 years from a Vulcan, you could get a brand new Ocampa to break in every 7 years. Or hook up with a Ramuran. You're guaranteed not to have a broken heart after, and that's a big plus.

I do not want one of those preachy little Ocampans with their cult and their gardens.

I'd go a Talaxian. They are kind of sweet.

That wouldn't bother me, seeing as how the Ocampans super size their maturity and mental prowess. I suppose I should like their curiosity since I like that immensely in humans but they don't seem to have a lot of fun.

Kes would probably hear about having fun and have fun one afternoon and that would do her for life.
