How would you bring back Babylon 5?

I think I might reverse the Civil War and Shadow storyline.
Year 1.Tension is mounting between Earth Gov and telepaths. Londo is working secretly with the telepaths because he feels they will respect the Centaru and G Kar is working with Earthgov because they helped supply the Narn with weapons to free themselves from the Centaru. Also the Shadows and Vorlon are kind of a myth. Also SInclair is the star again.
Year 2 Earth Gov is corrupted by new President Clark who makes a deal with the Vorlons to defeat the Telepaths. The Centaru are only saved by Londo striking a deal Mr Moden and the Shadows. The Minbari make first contact with earth in like 10 years since the Battle of the line. SInclair and Deleen meet for the first time since the war and she found out about the missing souls. She comes to Babylon 5 as ambassador and warns of the coming Shadow War.
Year 3 Earth Gov becomes more fascist. Sinclair declares independence. Vorlon and Shadows begin fighting each other and also wiping out alien worlds.
Year 4 Sinclair finds out his future is to be a Minbari God in essence but it all depends on winning the Shadow War. The Minbari become equal partners in running the station along with the Narn who have become sort of soliders in the fight. The Centaru are corrupted along with Earth.
Year 5 Earth is destroyed along with Centaru. But SInclair and his allies finally defeat the Shadows and Vorlons.. With extra help from those who survived the destruction of earth and Minbari. Sinclair goes back in time to become Valen. Deleen becomes the new leader whose new task is basically the leader of this new united government that is made out of Minbari,Narn, humans and Centaru.

Doing a continuation series in the same universe set on B5 wouldn't really work, even if you set it 22 years after the end of the original run because the station would've already been scuttled two years previously. There would definitely be more stories that could be told in the universe and on a similar station, but I think it would need a bigger jump forward. Go a century into their future and have the ISA crumbling due to some new great threat, one that sees them needing to create a new symbol for what they stand for and have that be a brand new Babylon station (this time without any numbers).
If you wanted to stick with just a ten year jump (which pretty much excludes all former cast from reappearing seeing as how they'll all be considerably older) then have something in the same universe but an entirely new setting, like they tried to do with Crusade or Legend of the Rangers, but this time actually give it the same investment and time that it would need.
If you wanted a new show about B5 then a reboot would be the best option, though one that wasn't just a retelling of the same story just with a new cast and improved CGI, but rather a whole new plot. It can still examine many of the same issues but just in new ways as they deal with new enemies and situations. If it went with current conventions a 15 episode season and continuing narratives would work very well for it, cutting out a lot of the fat and allowing them to really dig into the big issues whilst still having plenty of time to develop characters and relationships.

I wouldn't -- B5 is done and a reboot would just be more of the same. Perhaps reboot Crusade. Preferably, I'd adapt a literary SF universe such as Banks' Culture, Reynold's Revelation Space, Niven's Known Space, Simmons' Hyperion Cantos, Hamilton's Commonwealth or Confederation, or Baxter's XeeLee, Manifold, or NASA series in descending order of preference. Lots more possibilities than these, of course...

Agreed. This is the way to go.
On the other hand, they could always get around that whole "Babyon 5 was the last of the Babylon stations" thing with two lines of dialogue in the new pilot episode.

I don't see the need for that to happen, but it's one way to go.
Oh, if you liked Crusade; again, I'd just watch the original version aka "Space Battleship Yamato" (or it's remake: "Space Battleship Yamato: 2199").

I confess that I liked Crusade
. I thought the premise was a good one, though one that would be hard to sustain over several seasons. I also liked the crew and the characters, though Galen didn't really grow on me until way after the series, when he teamed up with Sheridan in the B5 straight-to-video release. I also liked the uniforms-both versions-though I like the black ones more. I also thought the Excalibur was a neat looking starship. The special effects were dicey and some of the alien designs/makeup could've been better but for the most part I have few complaints. The Apocalypse Box was inspiration for my Trek fan fic even, so in my own little way, Crusade lives on.

Crusade had plenty potential, though I never warmed to Gideon or Eilerson and Galen was a little "Seven syndrome" (the sort of character that would swoop in and save the day last minute). Definitely something that, if given a proper treatment would probably have worked out quite well.
Legend of the Rangers was another potential that I didn't mind (yes the targeting system was ridiculous) but again it pitched an interesting concept, had characters that could've gone in some interesting directions I'm sure, plus it was a chance to see how the Rangers actually operated (which is something I always liked in B5).

I tend do dislike reboots as a lack of respect for the original, so I'd go for a continuation twenty or more years later.
Long enough to give a fresh start, not so far you couldn't feature guest cast from the original.
I honestly can't remember whether I liked Crusade. I remember watching it, and I remember loathing the soundtrack, but I think I just walked away thinking some episodes were good while others were pretty dire.
It's the first season of a TV show; you need to make some allowances.
I find it heartening that the plague mission was never intended to be the full arc of the series, but it's hard to offer any thoughts on what might have been without knowing what the larger plan was, much less whether it would have held up in execution (B5's original plot certainly underwent multiple significant changes).

If Game of Thrones continued like Babylon 5, Cersei would have been dealt with in the second to last season, then the last season would have centered around a group of wizards fighting against persecution.
