So sorry the producers chose to do what they want rather than get approval from the “keepers of the True Star Trek flame”.
I must’ve missed the memo where being a Star Trek fan meant that you’re forced to watch every different series.
They aren’t the same show, they are just set in the same universe.
If you don’t like it, that’s fine, don’t watch it. Every series isn’t going to appeal to everyone, and it’s not meant to. There were countless people who hated TNG when it first aired, yet these days it’s viewed as the golden standard for modern Trek.
Discovery is about bringing new fans into the fold. It’s trying to pull the people who are fans of other big budget, high concept series such as Game of Thrones. It’s not trying to be TOS2.0.
