Does she work "with" a real ride share service?

Lift, in the real world, if she works for Lift, would go mental if Roseanne was murdered while working for Lift.

At least they can just say it was all a dream if she comes back.

Not a dream, another book. They killed off Dan at the end of the original series, then hand-waved him back to life by saying it was just a part of the book Roseanne had written. Easiest thing in the world to do it again.

She is NEVER coming back, so this talk is just stupid. She is dead, thank god because Roseanne Barr's 'acting' last season was some of the worst ever put on film / digital.

I'm already loving the retooling of the show as The Conners. Granted this was the requisite "grieving for the recently deceased character" episode which almost always has a certain amount of pathos and introspection, but the show as it is now flows so much better without Roseanne in the middle of everything. As I've said before, Darlene and Dan have always been my favorite characters so it's great to watch them step even further into center stage.

As for the episode itself, I enjoyed how the episode reflect on how each of the major characters processed and dealt with Roseanne's death, particularly Dan who suffered through a deep mourning. It's a shame that D.J. continues to be shuffled off to the background (but at least they squeezed in a joke about how that was happening), but it was good to have Geena show up in person even if her stay stateside is temporary (although Maya Lynne Robinson is in the main cast credits so perhaps she'll be around more).

I'm also glad the show is taking the time to explore more of Mark's development as a child who is trying to learn who he is and how his family is fully accepting of this process. I hope we see plenty more of that this season.

Damn.. John Goodman lost some serious weight over the years, i think him during West Wing was at his heaviest and it seems he's lost half his weight. It's unusual to see him this way as i always remember him heavy but good on him.

It's sad that Barr turned to be such a psycho and nearly but many people who couldn't do anything about it out of business but she gave the studio little leeway in getting rid of her lest she drag everybody down with her.

Jackie/Laurie Metcalf is still one of the best things to ever come out of Roseanne.. she's as funny as she was in the 90s and i love her on Big Bang Theory too whenever she appears, Dan Goodman is without reproach and the others are good too. I'm definitely tuning in to see how this show does without Roseanne but i'm very optimistic.

I have to wonder if "Roseanne" could continue with just Roseanne Barr on a different channel. She can reveal her entire family died and she's the only one left:lol: Dallas and Knots Landing went their separate alternate reality ways after Bobby's resurrection:whistle:

I just read that too. Maybe new surroundings is just what she needs at this time. Besides staying off twitter.;)

What she REALLY needs is to get mental
health help; I suspect that what she said may be due to her brain problems stemming from the brain injury she suffered in her youth as well as the effects resulting from whatever drug she's taking.

The Connors had a 2.3 in the demo and almost 10.50 million, making it the highest rated show of the night.

Even though all the articles say 'The Conners a lot lower than Roseanne Revival ratings', the Roseanne, now series finale, was a 2.5 and 10.6, so the ratings really held up nicely.

Second episode in and i really like The Conners, had a good few laughs with the episode.

Of course i really miss the powerful snark of Roseanne but Barr is batcrap crazy so there's that so i'm glad the show works even without her.

I think Darlene realized she didn't have a leg to stand on in the teenage sex argument. That was handled pretty well.

Yup, two episodes in and I'm enjoying The Conners immensely more the previous season of Roseanne. Her snark might be missed but I think the show is much better without Roseanne now, due to baggage or otherwise.

I really enjoyed both stories here, Darlene and the discussion of teenage sex (along with parental responsibilities) and Becky and her alcoholism, both of which have the potential to be ongoing plots.

Interesting how Geena is just around now with no mention about her going back to Afghanistan. Last episode, she returned stateside on bereavement leave because of Roseanne's death (although it was weird that she went on that leave several weeks after the funeral). That type of leave doesn't last for very long. Not that I'm complaining. Even though she didn't get much to do her, I'm glad she's around. Hopefully she and DJ will get their own A Story soon.

The thing for me with Rosanne, the snark can get pretty old after a while. She's OK in small to medium doses.

She was the basis for the show originally, but luckily the rest of the cast was good and now, they really probably can carry this show. They certainly deserve a chance to.

Darlene is evolving into neo-Roseanne. That was my takeaway from the first couple of episodes. Her snark has increased and I wonder if by season's end she'll have completely 'taken the mantle' of family matriarch.

That, and floored by Metcalf's range (she's fantastic) and similarly floored by Galecky's lack of range. There's really nothing about his character on this show that separates him from Leonard Hoffstaedler. Delivery, awkwardness, etc all the same.... anyway it's all good.

I had fun watching these two episodes and I'm tuning in to the rest of the season for sure.

Mary Steenburgen owes Dan a wife.

There is a weird guilt/pain pathology that could steer those two together.

Interesting! I think you might be on to something. The pills story line will likely continue.

Nice pic!

Just read a bit about it in Tv Guide and they mentioned about a Halloween episode! :) Loved those.

I think it's next week? S1103 is titled, "There Won't Be Blood."
For those who didn't watch in the 80s, Roseanne (the show, not the woman) was famous for doing a spooky, Hallowe'en themed show every October.

Some fascinating casting to look forward to later on in the next one:

I didn't watch the Roseanne reboot last year. How do Geena and her daughter fit into the family? In these past couple of episodes they were just sorta "there," without really adding or detracting from the show.

David was one of my favorite characters. In many ways that character overlaps with Leonard from Big Bang Theory. I don't know if that's because of the way they're written, or due to Galecki's acting style. Really the biggest difference between them is the glasses.

I'm liking the show so far. Darlene was always my favorite character, so I'm happy to see her center stage. I never cared much about Becky, but I'm liking where they're going with the alcoholism story.

Geena is DJ's wife. She was stationed in Afghanistan for all of last season, only seen in video conferencing, but she came home on bereavement leave after Roseanne's death.
