Or a TAS way! That sounds stupid, I have to admit, but at least it's stupid in a TOS sort of way.
We no longer need to fear the mushroom. Will it work with fruits? How about a salad?
I would have to say that the last few bursts of information about the series is dampening my spirits a bit. Of course I'll still watch and see how everything works out in the finished product, but there are now so many overwrought details and things being done, along with some ideas that I think should have been shelved.Slowly ebbing downward. The Orville has brought back so much of what I've missed about Star Trek.

I am, too. Very surprised. In fact, Trek has been so much a part of my life that it makes me a little sad. TOS and it's characters were there via reruns or VHS tapes when I had some very challenging times in my life. Trek is a very big part of my life.Yep.
Yep, and I'm surprised to be feeling this way.
Just be Star Trek.

"Lietenant Paul Stamets - the diligent scientist
Stamets studies Prototaxites stellaviatorae – a species made up of exotic matter found not only in our dimension, but also in a discrete subspace domain known as the ‘mycelial network.’ These subspace ‘shrooms are used in engineering for a mysterious new method of space travel. They are also somehow pivotal to the war with the Klingons."
Jesus Fucking Christ.
Discovery has money and pedigree in its corner, but seemingly little of what made Star Trek charming and fun. At least that is the feeling I get when watching the trailers.
Well you've found the right balance of stupidity, awfulness and "fun" in Orville then.
Engines powered by SPACE SHROOMS! Fungi that grow into subspace!
uhg.
There can be only one.Why the need to toss insults? Are you that insecure about the quality of Discovery? All of us are individuals are see things in our own way.
Well you've found the right balance of stupidity, awfulness and "fun" in Orville then. I guess you're not watching Discovery. Lol
So do you hate every other Trek series for the same reason? Exotic space life, including many things that can zip through space faster than a starship, and biotechnology have been a recurring theme across every series.
Didn't you see "The Way to Eden"? And what DID the Andromedans do to the engines in "By Any Other Name"?Obviously, these space mushrooms are a failure as we never hear of them again.
Now we know what powered transwarp drive.Obviously, these space mushrooms are a failure as we never hear of them again.
