Exactly where I'd expect them to be. There are Lots of closed minded fans and this BBS is no different as we've all discovered over the last few decades. Only social media makes it different from other periods when they were taking out ads protesting STNG and sending death threats to Leonard Nimoy. A large percentage hate newness and are extremely complacent. Hopefully DSC shakes things up. I'd be extremely comfortable and even happy if the franchise lost a lot of these hangers on and gained new fans like early Berman Trek did.
The funny thing is: I'm not enthusiastic about Discovery because it doesn't seem new enough. It ticks the same old Star Trek boxes judging from the trailer and images, except it's actually not even cheerful.

When you promise actual character development and "conflict" and your first trailer is full of "WE HAVE ENGAGED THE KLINGONS!" shouting on the bridge, I can't help but find it very formulaic. The same goes for the design: The production value is there but I find it uninspired and playing it safe. Same for the theme.
I've yet to see something that made me go: "Now THAT is interesting."
I want some shit we haven't seen in Trek before: Actual witty and fun dialogue, exciting stories, real character development and relationships (not necessarily romantic).
It's quite the opposite of being closed-minded and not wanting new stuff. Now I do realize we've only seen trailers so I hope the actual show will be better than this.
