So you're on team Targaryen? And GoT can burn in a wildfire for all I care.
So you're on team Targaryen? And GoT can burn in a wildfire for all I care.
And? That's now news.
And? There are plenty of non-Star Trek fans out there who will enjoy CBS AA offerings, my grandma and my wife included. So, let us not leap to conclusions based upon HBO's model. And GoT can burn in a wildfire for all I care.
You do realize that CBS All Access and CBS aren't going to be showing the same programming, right?Myself, I don't need CBS all access. I have an antennae that gets the local CBS station.
No, unless they want the show to end too.So you're on team Targaryen?
So, they shouldn't try?It show that the people in charge are pretty unrealistic about Star Trek Discovery chance of "success".
Once again, it shows how unrealistic CBS goals of 4 million new subscribers (or even your goal of 2 million subscribers). Myself, I don't need CBS all access. I have an antennae that gets the local CBS station. The only reason I be even remotely interested is Star Trek. I mention HBO now because it's similar to CBS all access and it's good for comparison. HBO now exist because of GoT. Do you really think ST: Discovery is on CBS all access as a convenience to ST fans.
They're the House on GoT with fire breathing dragons. No, unless they want the show to end too.
Good. Then, yes, they should burn that show to the ground. *sighs*They're the House on GoT with fire breathing dragons.![]()
Nah, there are more Trek fans than just the people on this site who bothered to vote in this poll.people can spin it whatever way they like, but approx 3 out of every ten trek fans are not positive about the show.
This is the cbs targeted audience, and before the show even airs 30% are less than positive.
I fail to see the positives in that.
*Points at the likes and dislikes on the Star Trek Discovery trailer*Nah, there are more Trek fans than just the people on this site who bothered to vote in this poll.
And I have to imagine the "target" audience is more than just Trek fans. No one could be successful with just them.
100% of people haven't seen it yet.almost 30% of people have a less than positive opinion.
And these people are Star trek fans.
not good
Glad you're keeping an open mind.True.
by the time this rubbish airs the 30% could be treble that

Maybe I'm weird, but I'm not overly concerned that a portion of the fanbase won't like Discovery. That's how it always has been with every Star Trek production. You just can't please everyone, it's impossible.
And even though I know it would be better for the franchise if this show was a massive hit, personally, I just don't really care. Sure, I want it to be successful and I want to see Trek thrive, but first and foremost I want Trek that I enjoy. I could live with Discovery being cancelled after one season, if it was the best season of Trek I have ever seen.
Viewing numbers, subscriber numbers, YouTube likes/dislikes and polls on internet message boards are well and good, but ultimately it's CBS' business to care about the numbers, I just care about if it's something I like. When it comes to media I enjoy I'm just egotistical, I guess.![]()
Never underestimate the importance of being fanatical.
Well put and is reflective of my concerns too. (With an added disappointment I harbour personally and that it is set in a past timeline from known Trek).
