How Often Do You Watch DS9?

I am in the middle of the 3rd season.

So am I. Just watched Civil Defense, Maridian, and Defiant tonight. Gonna pass Past Tense, which I've seen recently in the last couple of months. Looking forward to getting to Improbable Cause/Die is Cast again.

well, seeing as how all the ds9 videos got taken off of youtube in the past couple of days, i'll never watch all the way through ds9. i might get the dvds on netflix, but there's no way i'll be able to afford to buy them. i made it through season 6, tho (skipping about thirty episodes along the way), so it was a good start.

Save or order a boxset cheap from China/

On the original run I saw most of the episodes through mid sixth season. Left for college, didn't have cable as I was too cheap. Got Blockbuster and watched the first 3 seasons, introduced it to my husband who was a fan of TOS. Then moved and canceled Blockbuster as we had Direct TV and it was on Spike- so I decided to tape and watch it. It was on Spike approximately five episodes before they dropped it! I just joined Netflix and am midway through season four. Next episode up is Crossfire. We've been trying to watch an episode or two a night.

The season is going a bit quicker now that Worf has joined as I skip the Klingon-centric episodes other than Way of the Warrior. No "Sword of Kahless" for me. I'm dreading getting up to the Vic Fontaine episodes too. I like the Kira/Odo but remember disliking (read "loathing") Fontaine.

I was surprised how well the first and second seasons stood up for me. Only about one or two clunker episodes in each. For the fourth season I'm missing the Bajor stories. I've been catching TNG on Sci-Fi and another channel and I'm finding it doesn't stand up near as well as I remember or I just have amnesia and only remember TNG episodes I liked. I am finding a lot of TNG episodes are not must watches for me or are "why are they showing that episode Again...."

It never ceases to amaze me how the opposite peoples' opinions can be here. I'm still on season 7, but I'm quite sure that when I finish watching the series I will reflect back and think of season 4 or 5 as being my favourite overall, and one of the biggest reasons is because those seasons seemed to scale back on the volume of episodes focused on Bajor compared to the first few seasons.

Those were always the ones that I found hardest to watch, that I felt brought down the show with all their boring chatter that I could care less about. I wanted to groan and was tempted to stop watching every time I realized an episode would be about Bajor. :( I also think that on DS9, Klingon episodes tended to be 'can't miss' ones and of the highest quality (it helped that, like on TNG, Ronald D. Moore tended to specialize in them).

I loved just about all of them for how nicely they focused on character (much more important to me than plot, which tends to dominate the Bajor episodes). I think the only one I've disliked so far is "Sons and Daughters". I'm not sure what to make of Fontaine yet...I loved him in "His Way", but his appeal seems to be dwindling with each subsequent appearance.

I've only watched it from start to finish once, and I don't think I could commit to doing it again for a long time. I watch 1-2 random episodes every day, but not in any particular order.

Since DS9 is the best Trek series and it is basically one evolving story, how often do you watch the series from beginning to end? Just curious. :klingon:

Excuse me? DS9 the best Trek series? I know you don't expect all of us to accept this as fact. I certainly don't think so. Besides, I haven't watched DS9 on a regular basis in years. In fact, I haven't seen a DS9 episode in years.
