How many times.....?

I didn't see it in the theater. Seen it 3 times since it was released on blu-ray, and another time with the commentary. This movie is remarkably re-watchable.

I've seen it 8 times now, 5 in the theater (wish I could have managed a few more) and 3 times at home. The last time Mr. Teacake finally watched it and said, "it wasn't much better than The Matrix". I was crushed!! Especially since I cannot stand The Matrix and its stupid spawn!!! He also did not hear what Winona Kirk said she wanted to name the baby during the opening scene and started bickering over who said what and completely ruined this tear jerking moment.

I am looking fwd to watching it the next time completely alone.

I've watched it twice. Once with the commentary, once just the movie and loved it. I was thinking of watching it again later today. I've now seen it a total of five times.

This TREK is the most re-watchable since at least TUC or GENERATIONS.

4 times in the theater, and with tonight's viewing (6 at home) i'm now up to ten. I agree with you EDDIE, it is the most re-watchable since Gen and TUC.

As i mentioned elsewhere, the CGI is incredible. What a visually gorgeous movie this is. AND the sound. Really amazing.

And the Kelvin scenes are just incredible. I need more adjectives! And i still cry during the birth/death montage! GAH!

I've watched it twice without the commentary and once with. Got to watch the extras over the weekend. I hate the branching pods...i wish they'd just put it all on one 'track' ...it took me a while to get the hang of the branching pods so im not even sure if i saw them all! Will go through it all again down the road.

I love this movie!

How is the commentary? I usually watch films with it on, if there are people on it that I like. I haven't checked this one out yet. :p

Man, I hope Star Trek will be to the twelfth film what Star Wars (IV - A New Hope) is to The Empire Strikes Back! This is a great film, a great experience each viewing and I hope they top it with XII!

I actually saw it 5 times in theatres (twice at IMAX) and then you don't want to know how many times unofficially *koff* on DVD before my proper DVD arrived in the post. Since then, tho, I've just watched it once through with commentary, and all the special features. When I go to my family's in a few weeks for the hols, tho, I'm taking it with me to show my mum. She can't see films at the cinema, so she hasn't seen it yet and I'm really looking forward to her reaction since she was the one who took me and my sister to the Trek films when we were kids.

It's alright but too many people so certain voices get totally lost. I really really wish there was a separate writer's commentary. I wanted to hear Orci's thoughts, and he gets drowned out by the others too much in the main commentary.

Heh, "Mr Teacake". OMG! Not much better than the Matrix? And he ....talked....during the birth/death scene???
I think Mr Teacake needs a good talking to! :)

The commentary is ok, there certainly arent any moments of dead air, but like Tara said, there is alot of talking over each other and most of the time you don't know who is saying what. I also wish there was a commentary track with the actor's. I would have enjoyed that.

I saw it twice in the theatre and have watched it several times at home. I usually turn it on and do house work, or computer work, while it is playing in the background! EmbraceYourGeekness.com

Well its been close to month since I bought the movie, and got the movie on my iphone. And the very last time I counted of watching it was close to 20 times. But that was quite sometime ago. I know I have watched it way over that, so I just stop counting. I still watch the movie quite a bit, even more so cause I have it on my phone. So I can watch the movie anytime anywhere I go.

I've never rewatched a Star Trek movie so many times immediately after purchasing it. NEVER. This is the first one that i've watched at least once a week since purchasing it.

And i never get tired of the shot of the Kelvin escape pods against the fireball and then the shot of the title card. That title card still gets me excited, as if it's the first time i am seeing the movie!

About the only thing I can re-watch or re-read is Star Trek and Star Wars. I can't tell you how many times I've re-read books like "Q Squared", "Vendetta" or the Crucible trilogy. I love star trek with a passion. It is my drug. I can't get enough of it. I've probably seen every episode of TOS and TNG well over 2,000 times.

Same here. I rewatch all the Star Trek and Star Wars, as well as MASH and Eight is Enough. Of course, I usually let a year or two pass between viewings. Particulary with MASH, since it takes upwards of nine months to go through the whole show.

As for XI, twice, once at the theater, and once on the DVD.

I can do the same with Monty Python eps and movies as well as other cult shows.
