But it's possible that not everyone was, sure. I mean, I'd undergone an intensive daily training regimen. 90% perspiration, like Edison says.

Weeell, if you count pretty much everything except actual penetrative sex then 1. But apparantly no, so 0.

If you'd told 14 year old me that the number still would be that now, I would have not been so freakin' moral high road back then.
^ Agreed.

Several of my closest friends are in their 30s and virgins. I don't judge them any more than they judge me.
Don't say that! Sucks bad enough to be 26 and still a virgin!

Oh and *fucken high fives Kommander because I know what he's talking about* :D

I'm just giving you a hard time :p

I was mentally prepared, I was just pleasantly surprised.

I was mentally prepared as well, and then I was really disappointed by the result. I was bored the whole time I was doing it, and when it ended, I thought, "I feel like this should have been better." That might be one of the reasons I'm not terribly bothered by my lack of sex life. My few experiences have been rather lame.

Nobody's ever ready the first time it happens. :rommie:

I sort of was. I spent the night before asking my ex if it really was as simple as she said it was. As in, "Do I really just put it in? It works like that?"

With my luck, when my first time comes I'll probably end up asking a question like that. :alienblush:

About 5 of mine have been one-night stands, but I've ever been so drunk that I forgot having sex the night before.

I have.

Been so drunk, that is. Not the sex.

Eh, I think people make way too big a deal out of virginity. I don't find it alarming at all.

^ Agreed.

Cool.

All the more reason to engage in further research!

Yep, if it doesn't release the endorphins or you lack the receptors for such, the old in-out is a "bore". There's no carrot, just stick.

It was mostly boring because the girl wasn't really doing anything to contribute. I have more fun when it's just me and my hand.

I've noticed that in most cases it's faster and in a limited way "better" solo, but that's to be expected--jerking off is a system with immediate and perfect communication, whereas the best equivalent, a handjob, is a system with extremely lossy and--let's face it--often false signaling. My proposed solution is telepathy. But, then, that's my solution to everything.

I wouldn't dare judge a virgin: there but for the grace, etc. But I find it dauntingly difficult not to blame a society that permits people to remain virgins into their thirties, when it's not by choice.

Until we get to a point where we can honestly talk about how sex is more important than virtually any other activity we engage in, and design and implement a plan to satisfy the basic human needs of the 47% of the populace* that is currently going underserved on that front, we aren't justified in calling ourselves a civilized people.

It makes me fucking furious that it's not considered a legitimate social problem, and I have a girlfriend.

*Number not made up to appeal to "47" fetishism. Based on a large-scale actual survey undertaken by Durex around 2008. One does acknowledge that Durex has an interest in the results of the survey... :D

Well, since early 2003. And my spamming days have been over for a few years now :p

She's a biter. :techman::devil:;)

Coolness :techman:

One, my current girlfriend.

Though curiously, I was engaged to a person before that, who I never slept with (and I don't mean sex, I mean never even spent a night together).

I was a bit disturbed at still being a virgin at 26, but I don't feel any particular sense of accomplishment or increased self-worth now that I'm not.

I'd have no trouble mentioning it to a future girlfriend, should this not work out.

Are you comfortable with it? Sometimes the question comes up in a new relationship, and it can be an awkward thing.

I'm in the eleven plus group. I'm certainly not personally uncomfortable about the actual number of men and women I've had sex with. However when the number passes "active" into the realm of "just plain ridiculous" you do begin to be vague with new relationship potentials.

PKTrekGirl mentioned the age distribution curve among respondents, I'd be interested in orientations in the high partner count, My observation is that male straights tend to have the lowest numbers (well celibates are lower), followed by female heteros, then lesbians, then bi's and finally male homosexuals have the highest partner count. There are always individual exceptions of course.

If I count petting my number goes from 5-7 to about 25.

Pets don't count.

It certainly would conform to my suppositions that male heteros have the lowest capacity for sexual adventure.
