How is atheism a faith?

He admitted that it wasn't a religion.

EDIT: Honestly it's a lack of belief or a faith and if that can be called a certain level of faith, then I fail to see how even an ant can't be said to have many faiths.

To answer the OP: It isn't. Period, end of story, the t-shirts are that way.

I got waaaay past fed up with being told atheism is a religion/faith/etc. decades ago. As an atheist, I am the half of these conversations who actually knows if it is or isn't.

“Some say," Scytale said, "that people cling to Imperial leadership because space is infinite. They feel lonely without a unifying symbol. For a lonely people, the Emperor is a definite place. They can turn toward him and say: 'See, there He is. He makes us one.' Perhaps religion serves the same purpose, m'Lord.”

I was told to take this conversation to misc so I'm here waiting for the explanation.
#semantics The mod asked everyone to "drop the religion debate right here and now. This is not the forum for it." You basically thumbed your nose and said "We can still talk atheism though since it isn't a religion. It's a lack of a religion." I am pretty sure you knew that was a snarky nanny nanny boo boo way to reply instead of dropping it.

I got your message. Unfortunately, since my PC isn't connected to the internet, my ability to produce long posts is limited at this time. But, a reply to your question is being produced, and it will be posted within a few hours. Alas, as a newbie I cannot PM you when it does, so keep your eyes open.
