Something I missed the first time I saw the episode, but watching it again saw the clown miming agreement with Barney about who the Karate Kid really was.
I picked up on the fact that they were pranking Barney about halfway through the episode, but the reveal that everything was staged to be exactly what Barney had requested for his party (just not in the way he expected) was brilliant. As soon as they made that reveal, I just knew the clown was going to be Karate Kid hero... excellent payoff.
Well that was an ok episode, and I have faith that the writers know what they're doing, but come on haven't we done the Ted/Robin thing to death already.
They're girlfriends. Girlfriends hardly ever become lovers statistically.
I just don't want to see Ted become "that" guy. They sure are trying to make us think something is going to be happen.
I was actually hoping Barney would show up at the end with the locket in his hand and some story about how he came across it. I suppose that was too much to hope for.

I assumed he was a step ahead too.
I was fairly certain that would happen, too. Maybe they are saving that for their wedding, when Robin gets cold feet.
why would he put the box back?
It's Barney, he's got a reason for everything. I'm betting that Robin is ready to call off the wedding, and Barney will show up with the locket and have a plausable and somewhat charming reason for the whole thing.
I liked the Barney-Robins dad at laster tag, I liked the "triangle" and the couch part, but couldnt stand the Robin gets a meltdown parts.
I agree with the others here, the Robin-Ted thing has been done to dead. I expected Barney to show up with the necklace, and rolled my eyes when the "universe" gave the signs to Robin that she's supposed to be with Ted.

Do you really think we'll see her?
I think we'll see her, but not know for sure it's her until the season premiere next fall.
Wow, that was quite a finale. I didn't think we'd actually see the mother.
