Putting on this outfit and running around (including going to the gym or the mall) makes me feel better about myself

try using a pint of milk or a dollop of cream instead of the champagne. It gives you a very tender skin and it's rather relaxing. Maybe the scent of milk revives memories of being comforted and protected as a baby.

I wasn't talking about bathing in the Champagne.

I have a song that might help a little...

I listen to this when I'm really tight.

Walking in a random direction until I'm tired. Often I get about 10 miles. Through the city or into the countryside, depending on my exact mood.

^ that wouldn't work for me. Walking keeps my muscles busy and satifies my flight instinct but it won't stop my brain. When I have severe stress I need something that works as an off-switch on my brain, else I think in circles. I made pretty good experiences with audio books. And lots of chocolate.

I used to not deal with it and just keep busy thinking I could stay ahead of the stress. Now I have things in place I know will help me. Stopping to think about why I am stressed. If I know and it just can't be avoided for a while, I play my favorite movie, I go for a long walk, I cuddle with my cat, I eat comfort food and remind myself whatever the stress is it won't last forever. I don't know if that helps?

Assuming your stress is caused by one person, in particular, to punch a punching ball (with their face on it) every now an then would help. I think. Plus it's a lot safer than punching the real McCoy.;)

Hi @terrypippa , and welcome to TrekBBS! Since you’re new, I just thought I’d let you know that it is generally discouraged to post to a thread that has been dormant for a year or more. Not a big deal, since I know it takes some time to get familiar with the idiosyncrasies of a new site, but since this particular thread has lain fallow for a couple years, I’m going to go ahead and close it.

I don’t recall if they send out a link to the rules thread when you join, but here it is in case you’d like to read it over.

Again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy your time here!
