How do you ask for coffee?

This morning, when our computer tech walked in the door, his wife called and needed him to come home and unlock his van. I looked at him and said, "But, I can't wait that long for coffee!"

"Don't worry. I'll put it on before I leave."

That's how I asked for coffee this morning. Then, I had Jazz Band.

All this about Starbuck reminded me about this pic.

Cookie to the one that realizes the significance.

Make mine chocolate chip, please. ;)

To the Starbucks tastes like ass crowd....I'm in. :techman:

And my order:

One large coffee, please. Black.
Thank you.

"Can I have a grande Bold in Venti cup, please".

I hate having to pour coffee out to put milk in.

I don't. I had coffee once as an act of desperation, (it was the only "food" that would be available for 6+ hours and I was on an empty stomach) and it's one that I don't plan to ever repeat.

Did you end up running round and round in circles until the caffeine wore off? :D

Is now the right time to recall my bad experience with a large Costa Americano? :guffaw:
(sorry, I still have the giggles even thinking about it :guffaw:)

As a follow up:

"How do you ask for your coffee?"

Um, usually in a cup, why?

Sorry, my morning coffee has completely worn off. But my inner smart ass just kicked in. ;)

I did that. I had to make coffee for work but I made it so thick that no one would drink it, so I drank the whole pot. This was before I regularly had coffee, so I did not react well. Now I need a pot of coffee just to function in the morning.

Usually either "I'll have a tall black coffee" or "I'll have a double tall mocha." If I'm not at Starbucks, then just "I'll have a black coffee."

How much milk do you use?

I only put a little in for colour - I usually ask them to leave about a half-centimetre at the top of the cup. (I may be lactose-intolerant, but I just can't bring myself to drink black coffee. It needs a little cream to make it look right.)

Ah, so evidence of tolerance, withdrawal, craving, and narrowing of repertoire. You're well on your way to meeting dependency criteria. :D

I just make the coffee at home...and I like it black. I usually like it very strong. I have different taste than a lot of Americans. Most Americans don't like strong coffee and they tend to put way too much sugar in it.

You know, somehow I'm fine with this.
