Cliche's really aren't horrible, you tend to ignore them or just gloss over them in good movies and point them out in bad or mediocre movies. Or sometimes in good movies you write it off to the director but that cliche in there for a laugh or inside joke.
How about the cliche where the hero threatens a villain with death if he doesn't talk and then just bongs him on the head or says he was just kidding.
