Also, according to the Red Dwarf website, this will be the first ever Red Dwarf to be broadcast with no laughter track!
Hmm, guess that means no live audience then. In some ways I think that's a shame, because series 7's timing seemed a bit off without the audience, but that may be because they dubbed them back on later. Also, according to the Red Dwarf website, this will be the first ever Red Dwarf to be broadcast with no laughter track!
Well if the reports are right then you're wrong. They apparently run in to Craig Charles' Corrie character, and Steve McDonald. The more I think about it, the more I wonder if they just happen to be using the locations from Coronation Street without any actual reference to the show. There's other examples of this. For example, in the movie A Dog's Breakfast, one of the characters is an actor on a fictional sci-fi TV series. For the scenes where we see him on the show within a show, the used the Prometheus sets from Stargate SG-1.
When they were filming season 7 they did leave pauses after the joke so a laugh track could be placed there later.Hmm, guess that means no live audience then. The return of Red Dwarf this year could spark a full comeback for the programme, it has been claimed.
Last month, it emerged that the first new episodes of the cult show since 1999 were being filmed and would air on Dave over Easter.
Red Dwarf: Back To Earth will consist of three parts written and directed by Doug Naylor.
Chris Barrie, who played Arnold Rimmer on the show, told The Sun that the programme's comeback could last beyond these episodes.
Barrie said: "We all think this could be the start of something big - perhaps a new mini-series, a film or just a series.
"None of us has ever closed the door on Red Dwarf.
That's not exactly true. Chris and Craig hated each for a while, going from the stuff they say on the commentaries in the early series.I was watching an interview of Robert Llewellyn by Leo Laporte from last summer when he'd JUST been told about the project and had zero details to share (from what I was told, he got word in the airport as he was preparing to fly to the US).
He made it perfectly clear that the 4 of them have always gotten along great and just to work with them again had him really pumped. They seem to genuinely like one another, which is cool.![]()
I think they said it was something about unprofessional behaviour and coming to work hung over on Craig's part made them argue and stuff, which they think actually made the antagonism between Lister and Rimmer work more.I wasn't aware of any dislike between anyone, but I've only listened to the first series commentaries and not paid that much attention.
