Well last night was classic Dan Cloutier. Plays well up until the final 5 minutes of the game and then completely blows it. Granted his D gave up on him on the tying goal, but if you look at the way he was playing all night, that was a meltdown.
Man am I happy Luongo is our goalie now.
And Ryan Kesler is becoming one of the most underrated players in the league - he shuts down opposing teams top lines and scores goals. Can't ask for more than that.

Yeah Burrows made Matt Cooke expendable, that's for sure. He's been on fire lately too, something like 12 points in his last 8 games. His play setting up the winning goal in ot last night was awesome.
I tell you, if we get a bonafide second scoring line this team is dangerous and capable of winning it all. Hopefully Nonis makes some good moves this summer, because if we don't resign Morrison or Naslund that's $9 + million to play around with.
I'm seriously considering buying a Kesler jersey. The guy is just awesome.

Keeping Ryan Shannon and Mason Raymond up in the bigs long enough to gel, in concert with Kesler and Burrows, would solve the secondary scoring issue, I think. The real problem then becomes primary scoring; if Naslund and Morrison both get the boot in the summer, that extra $9 million of cap space needs to go towards somebody who can get the Sedins firing again consistently.
Am I really the only one who misses Anson Carter?

If you can get Naslund and Morrison back at substantially less than what they are making now, then go for it. I am loathe to bring back Nazzy though as he just doesn't look like his head or heart are in the game anymore. He's a 20 goal man now, and little else - I won't be sorry to see that go, and it's easily replaceable. Morrison still has some upside, but that upside isn't worth over 2.25 million a year. So you can either retain them for less and use the remaining balance on a free agent or two, or drop them both and roll the dice on a big name or 2 or 3 solid players.

Edmonton and Toronto win again, I suppose on the principle that if you can't make the play-offs you should at least torment your fans with the faint mathematical possibility.

Speaking of Edmonton's win, I heard this morning that history was made in their game last night. Apparently the guy who scored the winning goal - Andrew Cagliano (sp?) - was the first player in NHL history to score a game-winning goal in overtime ... for three straight games.

Sharks won their 10th in a row last night. Nabby was absolutely incredible at the end of that game. That was some of the most fearful minute and half I've seen in hockey. This is a great time for this streak too. Hopefully they can keep it going.
Damn, where did this Sharks team come from? People were writing them off as a lost cause not too long ago. I guess I could ask the same question about Calgary, especially with Keenan around. But that other shoe just doesn't seem to be dropping.
'nucks @ Ducks tonight. Anaheim is on the latter half of a back-to-back, so... who knows. Maybe playing against Bert will spark something in Nassie (Todd is healthy, right?)

I was too. I was even saying that Ron Wilson should be fired because he is coaching a bunch of underachievers. However, I think with the acquisition of Campbell and the trading deadline passed, this team got a whole lot more comfortable. Marleau is still a Shark and he has been playing a lot better. Cheecho is coming around, and Thornton has always been good. Now with a big defenseman, this team might be starting to click on all cylinders and it's fun to watch.
Do they have a good rivalry going on?
(I'd be gushing that the Sens are ahead of the Leafs, but that's pretty much par for the course.)
