Highlander Reboot/Prequel Anticipation Thread

Will the remake omit the unnecessary sex scene? Never really saw the point of them but then I guess it was a 80s / 90s thing to show some flesh if possible, they even did in the 1st episode of the series from memory

Well, I felt the romance was at least as important as the action in that first film, so while I wouldn't call it strictly necessary, it also didn't feel gratuitous to me.

If she is Heather, it's interesting how they are ageing up all the cast - Henry is 15 years older than Christopher, Karen is 13 years older than Beatie, etc.

Maybe Connor becomes immortal because he dies getting his first prostate exam in this version?
While in my head she's still as in her Doctor Who days. Sometimes I hate how time works.

Well its supposed to be a violent death that triggers immortality isn't it? So guess that depends who's giving the exam and what tools they are using.

An actual Scottish person joins the cast! And it’s a bit of a GOTG reunion for Bautista.

A couple of years ago I was hoping she'd play the live action Merida from Brave

Hopefully, her role in the story will be a bit more expanded than in the original.
I wonder if they might combine Heather and Kate. That way Gillan has a lot more to do, being Connor's partner before his Immortal reveal could conceivably give her a 'love him, violently reject him, come back to him for the rest of her life' arc to play. After Connor is banished, having her willingly leave the clan forever to be with him could be romantically tragic.

It's a good question. I dunno, I suppose Basic Instinct wouldn't be the same without sex scenes, or eyes wide shut, but a fantasy film about sword fighting warriors , does it need it?

I wouldn't reduce it to just ancient immortal warriors hitting each other with swords.

The movie is about loss and moving on too, the pain of losing someone you love to old age and having the strength to do it all over again if you meet the right person. Many immortals are lonely people, especially if they have been around for many centuries or even millenia just because of this. It simply hurts too much to be with someone for decades and then watch them grow old and die.

For me introducing Brenda as a love interest and showing their developing relationship was as important as the cool sword action and the mythology surrounding it because it gave the immortals character and fleshed them out beyond expert sword fighter.

I think it could outrage fans if Karen somehow got the same immortality as MacLeod or they "Sharon Carter" her and and have her great descendant look like MacLeod's past wife
