Although not used until The Man Trap, this scene was actually shot during the production of The Corbormite Manoeuvre and features some nifty mobile camerawork! As such I wonder if the clanking was accidental, perhaps the camera getting settled or maybe even the props guy picking up and arranging the lighting bar which was used to show turbolift motion?I noticed this many years ago, but never commented on it. In ‘Man Trap’ after Kirk, McCoy and Crewman Green beam up to The Enterprise, Kirk walks into a turbo lift. As he waits there is a terrible racket that sounds like tin cans filled with rocks being dragged down a bumpy road. Very unusual sound for a 23rd century starship.

Two very similar scenes (possibly why one of them was cut). However, the one with the shirtless Kirk does not have the clanking.I thought it was used in Corbomite? Unless I'm thinking of the sequence where Kirk is topless and goes to change in his quarters?

She has a low ESPer rating.‘Where No Man Has Gone Before’…
Mitchell is holding Yeoman Smith’s hand when he gets zapped inside the Barrier. She doesn’t light up, nor is she elevated to Goddess.

Those early episodes had more than their share of audio errors - doors missing their FX were quite common, inconsistence communicator cheeps in Man Trap, that sort of thing. To this day, I don’t understand why the sound editors just didn’t delete this noise, since there was no dialogue being spoken at this time.![]()

I think her "character trait to be revealed" is that she would start belting out songs. And when told to pipe down, she'd sing louder. Because that's what drunk songbirds do.![]()
We don't know if she was or not. She may have been very resistant to the disease; Scotty and McCoy were both in close contact with people who had it, but never showed symptoms. And Kirk and Spock effectively beat the disease on their own.
I chalk it up to her moisturizing hand cream she uses several times a day; it provides a layer a protection to the virus transfer through the skin sweat/moisture.Sulu grabs her by the hand and swings her around, but she apparently is never infected.

Or perhaps she borrowed or swiped a bit of Kirky's personal makeup kit conveniently inside his quarters during THE ENEMY WITHIN.
