So the arrowhead design was used in all starships until the second season or they were used as part of the first fleet and the other designs were for the secondary fleets? Hmmm

Noticed something odd watching "Assignment Earth this past weekend.
When Gary Seven makes a break out form the enterprise and heads to the transporter room. Isis the cat leaves the briefing room and joins him. The odd thing is that when she comes through the automatic doors, they only open just enough for the cat to come through.

They seem to have gone all out to upgrade auxiliary engineering into an elaborate set for Way to Eden, of all stories. Actually, suddenly, I like WtE more now, the writing, more than acting and design.
Look at this door. All the doors in this spaceship have a cheerful and sunny disposition. It is their pleasure to open for you, and their satisfaction to close again with the knowledge of a job well done.

That's the first time I ever noticed the picnic-table seating.
Those doors are pretty darned psychic. Like the time that they knew to open to let Spock into the room but also to close and stay closed as he fell backwards against them. So the computer system that controls the doors has programming for dramatic effects? WTF

Maybe it has sophisticated sensors. Unless you approach it in a normal fashion, it won't open.

That cat had kinetic powers. It wasn't your every day cat.
Just curious. Do you suppose that the stunt cat they used was the same one from "Catspaw"?
I think the doors were slightly confused! They detected a humanoid form wishing to pass through the aperture but then found it was simply a feline creature commonly known as a cat as Spock would describe it!

There's no reason why they should. These cats are trained by professionals and are rented for the part. I guess they audition them the way the do any actor for a small part. For example, Data's cat was played not only by different cats, but they were no even of the same breed, which, you have to admit, was a bit careless of them, not to mention that the.cat even surrepticiously switched genders (maybe it's TNG's subtle way of acknowledging transgenderism).
