Yup. The first DTI novel was commissioned by Jaime Costas during her brief tenure as editor, though she was gone by the time I actually wrote it. Subsequent DTI projects have been at the invitation of Margaret Clark.
I actually suggested a DTI novel to Marco at New York Comic-Con a couple of years before, but it was an offhand suggestion that I didn't really have much faith in at the time, so neither of us really felt it was worth pursuing. I only included it on my list of pitches to Jaime for the sake of completeness; I never thought it would actually go anywhere.
