I'm sure the blond Noah was with is going to show up soon in the present. And now that Noah is single they can hook up.

I enjoyed this episode and its Season One callbacks. However why the HELL doesn't Hiro just kill Sylar? He's allowed to save Charlie and make his sister fall in love with Ando but he can't save hundreds of innocent lives from a serial killer? And at long last; Mohinder!

I think that if he killed Sylar, there would be a lot more fall out than one or two events.

I liked this episode but not looking forward to next week. Can we still kill Claire???

The show used to just drop a character into our laps priming us for their significance in the storyline but these days Heroes doesn't have that great a track record. Lauren is one character I don't mind them dropping down the same void as they did Caitlin. She was deadly dull. Plus I'd rather the writers exploit the Noah/Tracy romance they hinted at earlier in the season.

Nathan. This was suppose to be shocking?!?!? He died last season so they expect the fact that Adrian Pasdar is off the show for good *this* time is suppose to shock us. He hasn't been around all that much this season anyway. I'd rather have Peter, Angela or Matt be killed off because that would at least be surprising.

Hmmm...
Yeah, not really news. Typical of the Heroes staff, and disappointing. For one thing, Nathan, and even Nathan/Sylar was much more interesting than the overused super-serial killer. Unless - and this a a feeble hope, I know - this is some sort of fake-out, and they aren't offing Nathan 2.0 at all, but Sylar - i.e., the Nathan personality will resurface.

As for the ep, I thought it was pretty good. The HRG almost-affair was pretty pointless, but for the first time in years we got a decent Hiro storyline, which made it all worth it. In fact, the whole thing was worth it for the scene where Charlie calls Hiro out for his childish, selfish notions of heroism.

2.6/7 and 6.18--not too shabby.... :)

Enjoyed the trip down memory lane quite a bit. Be interesting to see how the damsel in distress storyline plays out now.

I think they handled the Hiro/Sylar interaction perfectly and did a pretty good job with the continuity issue. In my opinion they even handled it better than most trek episodes.

Why are so many people on here so surprised Hiro didn't kill Sylar? Butterfly effect anyone? If he did that, who knows what future Hiro would step back into. It could of been even worse than leaving Sylar alive. What if the Sylar interactions somehow contributed to Peter not blowing up NY? What if Sylar's dad came back and ended up being worse than Sylar? What if one of the guys Sylar killed ended up being a bigger serial killer?

Too many variables.

I still like the episode but just what the hell was Hiro planning after he healed Charlie? If she thought he was selfish before, wait till Hiro tells her he's the one who's dying. If he was banking on Peter to heal him, then he could have taken Charlie into the future for that purpose too.

At least when Noah rejected the blond's advances, she didn't say, "Is it because I'm a lesbian?"

Ugh. So boring. This may be the first time I gave an episode a flat-out Poor.

Hiro is beyond boring. Time travel is beyond boring. Hey I know, let's combine them!

Then for good measure, we'll screw up Sylar some more! There isn't a remote chance that he'd believe Hiro would tell him anything of value, or even that he'd tell the truth (why should he?) Instead the far smarter option is to pretend to go along, wait till Hiro is off guard and then cut open his head. Once Sylar has time travel, whatever Hiro was going to tell him is irrelevant - Sylar will just change it.

Noah's plot wasn't much better - some blonde being retconned into the story at this late date should be in the Unlikely Retcons Hall of Fame (already stuffed to the gills with Heroes' contributions).

The sole interesting material was: what's Samuel up to? and how the hell does Mohinder thought-he-was-dead Suresh factor in?

100% certain. Talk about clumsy writing!

Hiro saving Charlie might have an even worse effect. He doesn't know what actions will have what consequences. If he isn't scared of frakking the timeline, just go for it. If he is scared, he better not time travel at all.

But she's gone Haitian, it said so in the note. How is he gonna rekindle that and tap that ass?

She may have just been lying to avoid embarrassment.

Yeah, I assumed Sylar was just going to kill Hiro while pretending to heal Charlie. He could have also tried to kill Hiro without bothering to raise his hand (assuming the hand thing isn't necessary for the power to work).

I was trying to think of a way to describe this episode, but Temis got it: boring. There were interesting pieces to it, but it all felt so familiar and perfunctory. We didn't really learn anything new about this time period, except that Noah almost banged a coworker, apparently.

And this is back when Sylar was in single-minded serial killer mode, so I don't see why he wouldn't have just killed both of them and taken their powers. What a joke.

Sylar already tried to kill Hiro, didn't work.

Couldn't Hiro just freeze time as soon as Sylar try to cut open his head? It's not like it's instant.

I doubt Hiro would feel a blood clot in his brain (until it was too late).

So Hiro is back at the carnival, but isn't Sylar with the carnies as well? I would've thought Sylar would have been with the group the came out when Hiro brought himself and Samuel back from the past. Sylar is still with the carnies right?

I agree that Sylar wouldn't have helped Hiro. He would have done exactly what was said above, to go along with it until he could pounce. He can use his telekinesis to hold someone completely, so he should have at least tried to paralyze Hiro to see if that would have stopped him. Also he knew Hiro was weakening and he even said he could do this all day, so then why did he stop and listen to Hiro. Sylar is the most easiliy maniputated character in the world! His actions constantly change depending on who he meets each week. and with the amnesia now he is even worse. Sylar is one of the more popular character on the show, why do they want to neuter him so much?

Is Hiro's ability relatred to his "bewitched" head nod and eye blink? Can he use his ability without doing that? I don't think we have seem him do that ever before. IF he has to nod and blink then if Sylar were to paralyze him, Hiro wouldn't be able to use his ability to escape.

Hiro has always been a bad character after Season 1. First he goes back in time to Japan and farts around there for awhile. Wasn't the love of his life back in feudal Japan? Then he is bored with his life and suddenly gets the thing with the formula. That whole formula, nemesis, Ando's ability, etc, was just so sloppy! Then Mohinder is always a good guy working for the bad guys. If it turns out that Mohinder was working for Samuel, I will just scream!

Too many characters all acting separately. I don't mind all the characters, but it is too difiicult to keep track of everyone. I can't remember if Sylar is with the carnies. Didn't Parkman just find out that headSylar has taken over his body and mind?!?! I would like to see more of that. Where is Ando? Peter is hanging out with the deaf girl....yeah OK, he is hanging out with a girl, anything else please?

Three promising things have been swept under the carpet, first is Future Hiro. He seemed like a great character. Does anyone see our Hiro becoming Future Hiro? I sure don't. Second is badass Peter from the future. Did he have a little Neo look to him during that brief scene where he beats up three homeland security guys? He was in complete control of his powers, he had a plan, and he executed that plan. Can we see more of that please? Third is mutant hunter HRG. I know the company doesn't exist anymore and HRG has apparantly changed his ways whatever, but HRG was at his best when he was calm, cool and calculating. Wasn't HRG the very first villian in the show? Before we found out about him? He was kind of that way although felt very tamed when paired with the bald guy hunter dude (what was his name?). Can HRG go back to being a alpha hunter?

We had so many great characters in the past that went nowhere. Linderman. Eric Roberts character? Candice the illusionist? Heroes loves to kill its best assets.

I love the show, but I wish it wanted to be more than what it currently is.

[/babbling rant]
