So I'm assuming the whole "world splitting in half" thing is going to be saved for the next volume. I really don't see a way we could get there from where we are with one episode left.
Quick resolution #1: Arthur stays dead (catalyst dies with him) and the batch of brew already cooked is destroyed.
Hiro on the flagpole is reminiscent of Hiro in feudal Japan, a good setup to the next volume. But Hiro probably won't sit the finale out.
Peter irritated me when he kept dragging out pulling the trigger.
^That makes a lot more sense, but then who/what & how was the catalyst created?
And fuck Ali Larter's character(s)
Any time.. Any place.. Any position and either one, or all 3 at once !!![]()
If stopping Arthur and Pinehearst is the final resolution to that problem, then it's really lame.

More lame than "the vial is destroyed and this storyline is over"?![]()

If stopping Arthur and Pinehearst is the final resolution to that problem, then it's really lame. We never saw at all what it was that could cause the world-splitting. Also, In this episode the painting on the building was prominently displayed as if to say "We didn't forget about this, and neither should you"

Who says he has to be left out? Assuming he does remain in the past, he'll be sixteen years wiser by the time he catches up to the present. We've seen what only four years does to him as far as maturity goes; imagine a "FuturePastHiro" who's had four times as long to come into his own even without his powers.
He also has quite a bit of future knowledge that he could exploit along the ways to see whatever plans he cooks up come to fruition.
I think the world splitting apart is supposed to be because too many people had powers randomly given to them and one (or more) of them had a power powerful enough to destroy the world.
Once they stop everyone from gaining abilities then that threat is gone and that future never happens so the world is safe.
That might already be the case since Nathan only wants to give the powers to a select few people and the catalyst is gone with only one large batch of the formula in existence. So with the death or Arthur & the catalyst it looks like that future has already been prevented from happening.
Interesting question. Regardless of biology, Sylar has shown a continual habit of latching onto people in a desperate attempt to create a family for himself. But I think Sylar's real character arc should wait for Fuller to come on board because the current writers just don't have it in them to create worthwhile character arcs. They should concentrate on fun action scenarios that don't require too much talent or continuity to whomp up for now.does Sylar have brotherly feelings for Peter? he saved him from dying from the fall the last time too.
Vortex Guy. Who says he's dead, wherever it is that he went?I think the world splitting apart is supposed to be because too many people had powers randomly given to them and one (or more) of them had a power powerful enough to destroy the world.
No real good reason. Arthur could have easily neutralized Hiro by removing his powers instead of erasing his memories but then we couldn't have had a Masi Oka acting silly for three episodes. And how did Arthur erase his memory? The Haitian still has his powers. Just consider it one of the many questionable choices in the pursuit of the story.I like Hiro, but first he's 10 years old, now he's powerless in the past?
I've completely lost track with all the pointless plot twists. Why didn't Arthur take away Hiro's time travel ability the first time they met (when Hiro was turned into a 10 year old)?
Ando explicitly said in the episode he plans to get injected with the formula that creates time travel and retrieve Hiro. I suspect that is where they are heading with this.Do any of our Heroes have time travel ability aside from Hiro and the newly "dead" Arthur? I'm sure there must be at least one as Hiro can't stay stuck 16 years in the past for the rest of the series, but for the life of me I can't recall who it is. Emo Boy?
Well from what I've read I think the initial plan was to get to it in season five when the show will have actually caught up to that future we saw. Afterall we know the destruction of the world won't occur for at least four more years so unlike the threat in season one which was five weeks away here the writers seem to want it to be a long term threat that may not be immediately averted. However, with the possibility the show is in jeopardy there might be some alterations to that plan.So I'm assuming the whole "world splitting in half" thing is going to be saved for the next volume. I really don't see a way we could get there from where we are with one episode left.
D'OH! I knew I saw him from somewhere. Must be deja vu all over again to be on this show. I remember liking Kyle in the few episodes I caught. Can they get Jeffrey Combs on this show too?The marine was Kyle from "The 4400."
He's just drunk with power, doesn't give a shit, and loves not giving a shit so much that he just wants to push it as far as he can go. That may be a direction for the writers to go - make him so obvious about his murders that he can't help but attract public attention, thereby blowing the whole thing for everyone. The general public has got to find out about all this crap sooner or later and Sylar seems to be just the guy to do it.I don't buy Sylar being that careless walking around covered in blood.
Don't get your hopes up. They haven't actually solved any of their problems with sloppy ass characterization and directionless writing. They just distracted us with a shiny new toy that actually turns out to be a shiny old toy (craaaazy Sylar).Damnit, why do you all have to start loving an episode the week after I give up on the show?
These writers are missing emotional punch lines left and right. It's one of the most annoying things about this season. How about the fallout of Peter getting the hunger and realizing it could make even his own saintly self just as eeeevil as Sylar? That didn't rattle him? And they did nothing with the eeevil Peter notion, tho maybe the producers took one look at Milo's acting and cancelled the whole idea? The whole "my brother shot me" incident fell by the wayside. To this day, I remain flabbergasted that the writers never played the emotional fallout of that.
Yup. That's another missed punch line. Plus I expected something a bit more between Arthur and Nathan. We didn't get any interesting clashes between Angela and Arthur before he exited.
Yep, the bullet went thru his forehead. Whatever happened to the back of the neck idea? But these writers are so sloppy, Arthur will probably stay dead!Arthur isn't dead. Even Sylar can't be that dumb. I mean the same thing just happened to Sylar a few hours ago when Noah "killed" him during the eclipse. As soon as the Hatian leaves or drops his power, Arthur will heal back again.
Someone will inevitably dig out that damn bullet, won't they? But in the meantime, will anyone think to chop Arthur up into sushi as a sensible precaution? Of course not.We learned you can't come back from head wounds unless the bullet or object is removed.
It would also be interesting if Nathan actually doesn't think of Future Peter and "his" Peter as being the same person at all. If it were me, and there were two of a certain person I know, acting very differently, the one I'd known for years would be the "real" person and the other would be a stranger. I don't think I'd see them as at all the same person. But this is the sort of thing that only the writers can decide so they should decide what makes for more interesting drama and just go for it.Nathan should have been devastated by Peter's confession. I don't care that it was "future" Peter. It was Peter and Nathan didn't react one bit. "I don't know how I'm supposed to respond to this" is not an emotional reaction.
He knew. He'd already arranged for Tracy to find his "corpse" later and dig the bullet out.The omniscient Arthur thing really backfires at the end though since how did Arthur not see Peter or Sylar coming to stop and apparently kill him?
That's got to be one of the clumsiest plot-convenience twists these writers have ever imposed on an episode, and they are the kings of plot convenience.Call me a bit slow, but I didn't realize why Sylar took that girl's powers until he used them to find out his true parentage.
