Why can't it be explained on the show? Rememeber back before the internet when television shows did just that? Quality shows on basic and premium cable channels still do that. It's network shows desperate for a gimmick to retain viewers that does stuff like this. Even nowadays, not everyone owns a computer. Networks bleed viewers by depriving them of key information vital to shows plot. And they wonder why ratings are dropping.

No kidding, this thing of having plot elements dealt with in other media is even worse than when they started having all those cross-overs in comics to try to get you to buy shit that you didn't care about just to keep up with the story...

Though why when Hiro was moving the clock back and forth on his desk didn't he end up sitting on his own lap a couple times. I mean we've all heard the urban about the bloke who snaps his own neck trying to suck his own dick and been buried in a doughnut shaped coffin with his balls resting on chin...

But you'd have to wonder if Hiro could convince himself to give himself a lap dance if he'd already accidentally assumed the position?

My interpretation was that he was manipulating time only around the clock itself, not in the rest of the room. After all, we never saw Ando's entrance during all that jumping around.

Peter did a similar thing with a bullet a time or two, as I recall.

A television introduced a character without extensively going into her background and, obviously, will never do so despite having only aired two episodes with her. DEAR GOD THE WORLD IS ENDING AND WE WILL NEVER KNOW ANYTHING AIYEEEEEE!

Nice of Sheridan to show up. Didn't recognise the actor at first.

Who else is amazed that this series has gone from season 2 "fonzie jumping over a pool of sharks" to this amazing, hectic, edge-of-your-seat s3 premiere? Lots of miniature "Mr. Worf... fire" type moments...

EDIT: Say, who thought that Daphne looked a little like that Farscape character who looks like she just had a XXL sack of flour dumped over her?

Oh man. That's awesome.

In the poor guy's defense, the Heroes narration had tended to be really full of itself at times, tho I noticed that they're starting to replace the blather with literary quotes, The Waste Land and all that. Which certainly is an improvement over blather.

Tho part of me enjoyed Mohinder's blather and will miss it.

I don't get all the Maya hate.

Because she's a moronic character but not fun-moronic like Matt, Hiro, Peter and Mo often are, just annoying-DIEDIEDIE kind of moronic. It's a matter of taste, perhaps.

Nice pix, tho. Freaky - does Hayden have a flat head or something? Doesn't seem like there's enough room for that prosthetic brain to be on top of her skull.

I'm not amazed, but pleasantly surprised that the problems of the Sophomore Slump were so "easily" solved. I was worried that they just trotted out everything they had the first season and had no ideas for future stories, but these two episodes carried a lot of the same elements that I loved about S1. I guess I shouldn't be amazed that the people who wrote S1 could do that stuff again - they didn't suddenly lose their talent, they just tried things that didn't work out so well. Now they know better.

Ah, Chiana. Daphne is cuter than Chiana and reminds me more of Sikuzo. Yes! I remember the names after all this time! Daphne would look good with a Sputnik hairdo, she should change her look.

I have a kooky idea about what might be going on with Tracy.

Clones.

Remember in Season 1 how it was revealed that Linderman had been keeping a close eye on Nikki and DL since they were kids, and had arranged for them to couple so that they might have Micah? What if it goes a little deeper than that--Nikki was one of a series of clones, genetically engineered to have different powers. Nikki and the real Jessica may not have been twin sisters at all, but clones living as sisters under the same roof. Tracy was sent somewhere else.

Running with that idea, the new Linderman might himself be a clone with different powers, which include being able to make himself visible only to Nathan.

After a quick look I couldn't find a decent photo other than the one from here but for a short while she wore her hair in an odd fashion. It was basically squat little knots of hair sticking out in every direction, vaguely like the Sputnik satellite.

First of all, I'm not holding season 2 against anyone. The strike fucked everything up, that couldn't be helped.

Has Maya done anything important in season 3 so far to warrant hate ? Not in my opinion.
Sure, she's nothing great so far in 2 episodes but instead of hating and wanting her killed off I'd rather see the writers actually create something interesting for her to do.
Which is something we may get to see.Lots of episodes left on S3.

It's what she hasn't done: anything to convince me she's a worthwhile character or actress. I have no interest in seeing anything further from her because she bores me.

Waaay back in the premiere ep of S1 (or it might have been the first two eps, but pretty damn quick), I noticed pretty quickly that several characters, such as Noah, Nathan, Peter and Matt, demonstrated their appeal very quickly. Hiro, eh. Still don't get why people like him. Claire is ok, Nikki - meh. With Sylar, Elle and Bob, their appeal was obvious and immediate (it helps if the character is played by an obviously talented actor).

It doesn't take me long to figure out whether any character is worthwhile, since it's a combo of the basic premise of the character and the actor's charisma and talent. Good writing can build on a character but there has to be something there to build on in the first place. Maya's had far longer than any character needs to prove they have something going for them. It's not going to change at this late date. The actress has no noticeable charisma or talent, so there's really nothing for the writers to build on anyway.

I'd rather see the writers actually create something interesting for her to do.

They shouldn't waste their efforts on untalented actors. Their writing would be more effective if handed to an actor who can do something with a scene other than stand around and be eye candy (do you think there's some crying lack of untalented eye candy in Hollywood that this actress in particular needs to be kept around? )

Heidi left Nathan. Remember the scene where he has to sneak around and see his kids at school from last season, when the school teacher comes out and tells him he's not allowed? Very sad. Why the writers haven't revisited that, I don't know. It seems completely out of character for Heidi to deny him access to his children. I can understand her wanting to leave him since he was unfaithful, but denying him visitation seems extreme.

There's also a deleted scene on the season 2 DVD of his sons coming to see him when he's all burned, but he lashes out at them because he feels like a freak. Then one of the boys rushes in to hug him before they leave and tells Nathan that he loves him. Nathan breaks down and hugs him back. Whoever made the decision to delete that scene needs a lobotomy--or already had a lobotomy. It was very touching.

That was a terrible idea to delete that scene.

I assumed that Angela was the reason Heidi completely broke off from Nathan. A few scenes in Season 2 (with Heidi and with Matt) suggested that her power was the power of persuasion. That's what it looked like she was doing when she told Heidi to get away from Nathan. That's not her power but it was probably still Angela who got Heidi to turn so much on Nathan. It would definitely be in-character for her.
