Here's for all:

All these years later, I'm terrified that I'll come across a current photo somewhere and ruin my fantasies.

That happened to me when I saw a current photo of Nancy Kovack (Nona from A Private Little War).

''Dr Dehner is absent from the comic version of WNMHGB even though they need her expertise.''

Say what? Dehner is a critical character and the key to Kirk's victory, and they left her out? Who exactly is writing the reboot? Is it that J.J. fellow?

I'm not just pushing for Dehner because I sang with Sally Kellerman at Shore Leave 33's convention last year near Baltimore.

Looking forward to their Vina-less take on THE MENAGERIE.

They haven't been particularly kind to any of the female characters from TOS yet, apart from Uhura. That said, things didn't end well for TOS Dehner. If they intend to use her as a recurring character I could definitely live with that. However, I can't see them having room for two psychiatrists on the ship (although NuDehner is a psychologist and therefore may not even be a medical doctor although there is no reason why she could not be both I suppose).

Marianna Hill is living proof of how tough it is to make good in Hollywood. Despite being an excellent actress and drop dead gorgeous she never really could break through.

You basically have to hit it big while you're still a fresh face. That requires more luck than skill. If you make it, then you can then capitalize on that for the rest of your career. But you only get a couple of chances. Otherwise, you're history.

Marianna Hill was quite willing to sleep around with powerful men, and she still couldn't make it.

There was Clint Eastwood:

And there is the rumor that Clint Eastwood saw the film in LA in a theatre because old Lee was in it and he liked the director and took note of Ms. Hill's fine bod...er..I mean performance and the next year cast her in High Plaines Drifter and they say it looked as if Clint and Ms. Hill would go away together from time to time during shooting but who knows why. Clint being the reserved conservative gentleman that he is certainly wouldn't have put the moves on her back then would he?
And Clint Eastwood was pals with producer Sidney Beckerman.

Billy Vera: Can I tell this story about Sidney? ... At one time, we were all living on Sycamore, and I was living on Sycamore, just a block north of Beverly. Used to come here every week. Next door to me -- and I got a song out of it, too -- lived this beautiful, older actress of 41 who was the mistress of Sidney Beckerman. (To Peter:) You didn't know this --

Peter Weller: That was Marianna?

Billy Vera: Yes.

Peter Weller: Marianna Hill?

Billy Vera: Yes.

Peter Weller: Whoa. Whoa.

(audience laughs)

Peter Weller: Do you know who she is? Does anybody know who Marianna Hill is?

Billy Vera: Great actress. Nutty as a fruitcake.
And then there was Henry Kissinger, who can best be described as having a Captain Kirk experience with her. (It was just one night! Stop making such a big deal about it! I bed a different Hollywood starlet / science lab partygoer every week, and none of them were so clingy!)

One day I had lunch at the Polo Lounge of the Beverly Hills Hotel with a fetching young actress by the name of Marianne Hill. As is often the case when a young actress lunches with a columnist, she tried to give me news.

"Guess who I had a date with last night?" she said. I couldn't guess. "Henry Kissinger."

...

So I started asking her questions about Henry as a lover, not a diplomat. Suffice it to say that on a Richter scale of ten, she rated him below five. In fairness to Henry, Marianne said that Secret Service men were always present and didn't lend themselves to romantic dalliance.

...

"It's true," he said, "that I took out Marianne Hill, but I won't again. She is the first one who ever talked about me like that. I assure you that that one date will be the only one. As you know, my job requires that I have a certain amount of dignity. The Marianne Hills don't help."
Now consider Gene Roddenberry's reputation on the casting couch ...
