Say what? Dehner is a critical character and the key to Kirk's victory, and they left her out? Who exactly is writing the reboot? Is it that J.J. fellow?

I'm not just pushing for Dehner because I sang with Sally Kellerman at Shore Leave 33's convention last year near Baltimore.

Looking forward to their Vina-less take on THE MENAGERIE.

They haven't been particularly kind to any of the female characters from TOS yet, apart from Uhura. That said, things didn't end well for TOS Dehner. If they intend to use her as a recurring character I could definitely live with that. However, I can't see them having room for two psychiatrists on the ship (although NuDehner is a psychologist and therefore may not even be a medical doctor although there is no reason why she could not be both I suppose).

Marianna Hill is living proof of how tough it is to make good in Hollywood. Despite being an excellent actress and drop dead gorgeous she never really could break through.

You basically have to hit it big while you're still a fresh face. That requires more luck than skill. If you make it, then you can then capitalize on that for the rest of your career. But you only get a couple of chances. Otherwise, you're history.

Marianna Hill was quite willing to sleep around with powerful men, and she still couldn't make it.

And there is the rumor that Clint Eastwood saw the film in LA in a theatre because old Lee was in it and he liked the director and took note of Ms. Hill's fine bod...er..I mean performance and the next year cast her in High Plaines Drifter and they say it looked as if Clint and Ms. Hill would go away together from time to time during shooting but who knows why. Clint being the reserved conservative gentleman that he is certainly wouldn't have put the moves on her back then would he?

And Clint Eastwood was pals with producer Sidney Beckerman.
