Yep. Hilariously, neither were originally planed but ended up being made thanks to a bullshit artist. When a Child World (No.2 toy store at the time) buyer pointed out kids knew the backstory of Star Wars toys because of the movie and asked what they had to make kids want to buy He-Man toys the guy ass pulled that they came with a comic that told the backstory. Later on they showed Toy's R Us the toys and pointed out they came with a mini comic. The Toy's R Us buyer made a crack that five year olds don't read so what's the point of a comic. True to form the the guy ass pulled that they were going to have two one hour specials. When the guy approached Filmation to make the specials they suggested they make a syndicated series instead as the would both be roughly the same price to make. I also love the fact She-Ra came to be because the girls toy department of Mattel got pissed off that He-Man toys were out selling Barbie ones.
