HBO: "The Leftovers"

Witness relocation?

If they were "involved" in a mass murder of those smoking people, this'd be the only place safe for them.

The second episode, while not really clearing too much up, was at least not quite as insane. After the first one, I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep watching, but the second one reigned me back in.

I think the worst part for me though is that they keep teasing the idea of understanding what the departures are. Like those guys who bought Nora's house saying they think energy is concentrated in spots. But you know that these people won't ever find anything. Wasn't Nora part of a commission that tried to determine these things, and they never found a pattern? Further, didn't Kevin's wife have her fetus depart? That sort of makes a location thing not seem like much.

But I get that they're trying to set things up for Miracle being such a place. The people doing weird rituals has to be part of it all somehow.

It was a more normal episode explaining how the Garvies got Miracle and their POV over some events we saw in Episode 1. Now we get a Patty head ghost, to many shows try to do that these days.

Dad in the nuthouse was seeing Ghosts last year, and they mentioned something like that they were grooming the kid to save the world as well... Although baldie who was helping the hero kill dogs last years was exactly seen by how many other people?

So has anybody watched the whole of the season yet? It was all so good, and then the finale was excellent. What an upbeat ending with everyone waiting for Kevin.

I really enjoyed season one, but the second one has vastly improved the show in so many ways. Not sure if it means we'll get another year with the ratings being so low.

Best line in the episode: When Kevin says "Motherfucker!" upon realizing where he's at (again). I laughed out loud because that was exactly how I felt at that turn of events. Also, his assessment of the absurdity of karaoke serving as a means to an end of escaping his predicament. I love how random and bizarre this show can be, yet in the same scene as he's signing he delivers one of the most heartfelt performances of the series as he realizes he really does want to be back home.

Satisfying close to an outstanding season of television, but I'm a little nervous that Kevin's situation with the reuniting of his whole extended family is a little too nicely packaged seeing as how the show is on the edge of cancellation. I hope they weren't wrapping things up because they anticipate that this might also serve as the series finale.

Yeah, this season was definitely an improvement over the last. It started out pretty weird, but then became really compelling. I thought the hotel episode was really great.

I hope it doesn't get canceled. I feel like there was still quite a bit left out there that wasn't wrapped up that neatly, but if it has to be the ending, it's not a bad one.

TVline.com has an article about where season 3 would go if they somehow get a third season. However I'm having issues getting the website to load otherwise I'd link it.

I hope it gets another season, but if it doesn't at least it ended on a positive note.

If it doesn't get a third season it won't feel like I got cheated out of seeing an ending. The finale ended in a pretty good place. Having said that I really want to see a third season...I really love seeing these characters/actors doing their thing.

It got a third and final season.

It seems like HBO is doing a better job ending their poorly watched shows now.

“It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome back Damon Lindelof, Tom Perrotta and the extraordinary talent behind The Leftovers for its third and final season,” said HBO president Michael Lombardo in a statement. “This show has proven to be one of the most distinctive HBO series and we are extremely proud of its unrivaled originality, which has resulted in such a passionate following by our HBO viewers. We admire and fully support Damon’s artistic vision and respect his decision to bring the show to its conclusion next season.”
Added Lindelof: “I have never, ever experienced the level of creative support and trust that I have received from HBO during the last two seasons of The Leftovers. Tom, myself and our incredible team of writers and producers put tremendous care into designing those seasons as novels unto themselves…with beginnings, middles and ends. As we finished our most recent season, it became clear to us that the series as a whole was following the same model…and with our beginning and middle complete, the most exciting thing for us as storytellers would be to bring The Leftovers to a definitive end. And by ‘definitive,’ we mean ‘wildly ambiguous but hopefully mega-emotional,’ as all things related to this show are destined to be.
“On behalf of our incredible crew and superb cast, we are all tremendously grateful that HBO is giving us an opportunity to conclude the show on our own terms,” Lindelof continued. “An opportunity like this one rarely comes along, and we have every intention of living up to it. One more thing. We are blessed by the unwavering support of our fans and the incredibly powerful voice of the critical community. We feel absolutely privileged to heat up one last helping of leftovers.”

Too late for Carnivale fans (grumble grumble)...

I have to admit I lost track of this during season 2, but season 3 definitely started out with a bang... It almost seems like Miracle is setting up to fight back the ZA from Walking Dead, but instead of zombies, you have knucklehead stoners waiting for the second coming of Gary Busey. LOL.. I will try to get caught up on season 2, but I'm fully on board right now.
