HBO Max Streaming Service Thread

WB/HBOmax denies the Harry Potter stuff, but can just be a smokescreen to keep it underwraps to let more time pass since the last JK Rowling transphobic outbreak.

Personally I often find it very difficult to separate art from artist and her views really diminish my interest in anything she is involved in or profits from.

After having a bunch of her remaining fans harass and tell me to kill myself for pointing out she was wrong about trans people I really have no interest in anything she releases from now on. I used to be a fan of Harry Potter and the whole wizarding world, but she killed that. If HBO Max does actually make it I'll cancel my account since I don't want her to ever make a single penny off me.

Hey -- just wondering how you guys like the format of the HBOmax app? Personally, i find it a bit frustrating because i can't seem to find shows or movies i recently watched very easily (unlike Netflix), or a list of things i want to watch, or a queue.

Anybody else working it better than I seem to be?

I liked it when I was using it a couple months ago.
I think the queue was under your profile.
I think the next episode of the shows I'd been watching just came up towards the top of the homepage. Not sure about if movies I watched came up anywhere though.

As I've used it, any series I'm watching automatically gets added to my list which appears under my name; as well as anything I was in the process of watching but didn't finish.

Of course I'm watching it in a full browser I'm not watching it in my phone and I didn't have a media streaming stick on my HDTV - so I can't speak to how that interface may or may not work.

You definitely said that much more clearly than I did. I forgot to mention in my post that I watched everything on PS4, but I did browse the website version, and it's interface was more or less the same as the PS4 one.

I wish HBO Max would do some continuation of Venture Bros, at least a movie to wrap up some of the storylines given the ending of the last episode.

WW1984 helped to double the number of subscribers for the service. That's pretty impressive, but even that wasn't enough to bring it up to Disney+ or Netflix's numbers.
They've also released another new trailer for all of their upcoming movies, which includes new footage from Space Jam: A New Legacy, The Suicide Squad, Reminiscence, and Mortal Kombat.

An animated Game of Thrones drama is in the early stages of development at HBO Max, multiple sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. Meetings with writers for the adult-leaning project, which would be similar in tone to HBO's Emmy-winning flagship, are already under way. No deals have been made and there's still a possibility that the animated series never comes to fruition.

Bell gave me 2 free months of Crave + (Canada's equivalent of HBO Max) so I've been binging! Finished The Outsiders and Party Down already, both really good.

With the new movies, original content, and hbo catalogue I think this is actually the best streaming service. Not necessarily the best value, but best overall.

I just saw the news over on IGN and I'm a little confused. Why are they releasing a podcast on a video service? Are we just going to be staring at a blank screen or just a still image?
