Having Babies In Space.

Travis seemed fine, if a little quiet, despite being born in space and spending his formative years there...

hes not an alien tho.. is he.. he is a human.. or if u like.. a Space-Human.. or Proto human..

And so what's your point? First you claim that humans can't have babies in space, then admit that Travis is a human, and was born in space, pretty much debunking your own opening post.

So again, what's your point? What are you trying to say?

Im gonan write up a post for tomorrow which hopefully will clearly put forward what im trying to say..

in the mean time.. talk amoungst yourselves

Rob Grant should try to answer the following questions:

1) What exactly are "space humans"? And how are they different from regular humans?

2) Who exactly is supposed to be unable to procreate? And for what reason(s)?

COS HUMANS dont come from SPACE
they are from Earth..

There are a few things I'd like to point out to you:

Firstly, having sex is something completely different then making babies, everybody knows that. One might facilitate the other, yes, but it's not the same thing.

Secondly, the article refers to sex in zero gravity. Federation starships have gravity, thus, that doesn't apply.

Third, sex in zero gravity isn't that bad; you aren't necessarily floating in the middle of empty space, after all. You've got all sorts of stuff to grab on to, to push off from, to lock your partner against; some specific poses might be difficult but I doubt all of them are.

Edit: Oh crap, didn't see the pagination. Well, guess I won't get a reply from the topic starter then.

Beep...Beep....beep....beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Must have just been a reflex, nurse. It's still dead. Inform the next of kin.

Been following this thread with some interest.Wouldn't have thought myself that having kids on a Fed starship would have been a problem with control over gravity and extensive shielding from cosmic radiation, plus of course the five star medical careplan from Starfleet.Think however of all those poor souls in the Federation colonies who are having to adapt to living in different ecologies, and climactic, gravitational conditions. Not to mention differing levels of background radiation from the local sun and magnetic field conditions.Just think what effect that must be having on the DNA in the long term.....

...Cuz in space without gravity, t3h sp3rms go everywhere. :rommie:
Hot.

Hi.. do u have a source on that?

Uh... my sexual response cycle?

Okay, seriously, I do wonder how/if conception would work in a microgravity environment. It has absolutely no bearing on starships or space habitats in Star Trek, but gravity or the absence thereof does seem to have an effect on cell function. Interestingly, however, the bulk gametes should actually be in a better position in microgravity than in 1g, at least so porn has led me to believe.
