Hasbro's Power Rangers era and General Tokusatsu discussion

Sing and dance with us after the commercials

Boonboomger episode 2

It's cute to see such a simple dance that's easier for little kids to learn again.

Episode 3 adds the traffic safety rules! The fight for traffic safety continues!

I caught episode 3 with a friend and he pointed out what might be a reference to an old Hirai Ken song! When Tokeiguruma goes down he says, 'Now the clock can't move anymore' (sub translations may vary) but the line in Japanese is 'Ima wa mou ugokanai.. sono tokei' which may come straight from Oukina Furudokei (Big Grandfather Clock). I had completely forgot about being a Hirai Ken fan until he mentioned it since I was into him 20 years ago lol. I have since re-added his songs to my Jpop playlist and what a blast from the past.

Minori Terada (Ryubee Sonozaki in W and Sui Asakura in Geed) has passed

Sad to hear. Terada also played Yu Dobashi, the main antagonist in the latter half of Ultraman Blazar, just recently, and he had roles in the Ultra franchise going back to the original Ultraman in 1966. He was a very distinctive presence.

It's starting. First rumors of the next Kamen Rider series have started. Trademark for new rider usually drops in May/June.

My guess? Polar opposite combinations or maybe rivalries?

It's animal themed and uses two animal based collectibles to henshin? With the combination of cat and dog maybe it's finding the connection between two different/polar items.

Rider- Even though they don't get along we're all compatible in some way.

Looks like collectibles might actually be the equivalent of Happy Meals.

Fourze already did that with the Foodroids. But it's not like this franchise hesitates to repeat itself. I'll just find it refreshing if we get a KR season arc that isn't about rebooting creation in some way.

This seems interesting...

Super Sentai rangers defeat the big bad only to enslave the remaining minions, forcing them to launch attacks every Sunday to forever propagate their franchise, allowing them to make money forever. That is until one lone grunt gets fed up and decides to try and destroy the rangers from the inside!

Oh, I wish there was a Power Rangers animated series based on the Boom comics..

A new poster for the Deka 20th movie has also been revealed

And two new cast members seen in the new trailer and poster - Mei Kurokawa will play a new Alienizer called Raenjo (please allow for spelling errors), the wife of the drug lord Tarewarane, and Jun Fukuyama voices the cute little alien, Marple.

If anyone can do it, I highly recommend checking out Go! Go! Loser Ranger!

It's a very fun and deconstructionist series on the Super Sentai genre. You can think of it as a cross between "Power Rangers" and "The Boys"

The trademark for the next Kamen Rider series has been published

Gavv is pronounced “Gavu”, and sounds similar like “Gabu”, the Japanese onomatopoeia meaning “to bite”. That coincide with food collectibles.

Wow, have they done a 30th anniversary special before?

I wasn't fond of Kakuranger. It was an overly silly season, and it was the peak of the era when Sentai embraced misogynistic humor that's aged horribly. Really, I found all three seasons adapted into MMPR to be a low point of Super Sentai. Which is odd, since their head writer Noboru Sugimura did good work on the Metal Heroes franchise with Jiban, Winspector, and Solbrain just before his Sentai run.
