First BoonBoomger teaser. Right now it's mostly highlighting the cars/merchandise.

Hmm. Looks like they're still using a lot of CG environments, even for real-world setting. But there seems to be some kind of Speed Racer-movie-ish racetrack environment that the mecha are involved in -- just for a stylized gattai sequence, or some kind of parallel world like the Engines of Go-Onger came from?

Lots of different vehicle mecha, and it looks like there are miniature versions that unfold into keys -- did we know that already? They remind me of Kamen Rider Drive's Shift Cars.

Well since it's now February in Japan the merchandise promotion for Boonboomger begins and it's bursting right out of the gate

They're promoting the merchandise a month ahead of the March premiere to get the best results/sales. You could say they're starting the race early with a hope it will win......

The Bandai Mania youtube page has demonstrations of the boonboomger changer and weapons.

The changer is a mixture of a stopwatch and a engine turbine

......whoops. Wrong franchise perhaps?

They don't become keys. When they interact with the trailer truck they can spring out and reveal their weapon mode

BoonBoomger Robo also appears to do a spinout attack similar to the RV Robo(Turbo megazord)

Eh, Toei's are never as good as the detailed, creative Ultraman cityscapes Tsuburaya does. I found the "village" miniature sets they used from time to time in KingOhger to be a nice change of pace, even if they just used the same one over and over.

Every year the event features performances of various theme songs from Kamen Rider and Super Sentai Series, and appearances from the cast of the currently airing series.

Well this is surprising. We're not getting a gold or white or silver 6th ranger. We're getting a violet 6th ranger! 2nd quarter toy information coming from Chinese boards for Boonboomger reveals their changers name and robo

You sure this is the Sixth Ranger and not a seventh? They often use violet for "extra" Rangers, like Gaisorg, Stacaesar, and Don Murasame. And sometimes they introduce them out of order, for instance introducing OhKuwagata Ohger before Spider Kumonos.

Okay, I think I might actually be starting to get used to the tire faces. I still don't like them, but at least I'm getting desensitized by repeat exposure.

I can imagine the villain taunts if they adapted this to Power Rangers -- "Hey, Rangers, why such tired faces? You're wheelie getting on my nerves!"

$100? No fucking way, absolutely not. Thats more overpriced then Discotek's Black/Black RX releases, and at least those went the extra mile and actually had special features. Why is this priced $40 more then Shoutfactory's own Zero One, Kuuga or Ryuki Blu Rays MSRP? This isn't 2002 or Japan, a triple digit price is not acceptable for a show that has the runtime equivalent of about one season of an old 26-ish hour long show (at best). You can literally go and buy between 4-6 Mill Creek Ultraman releases of similar runtime for this price. Hell, right now you can get Zero-One, Kuuga and Ryuki's releases from Amazon new and still not get to $100.

Oh, but if you pre order it right now on their site you can get it for $80, only $20 more expensive then their other releases, and it comes with a poster. What a deal  It also seems to be only the series with none of the movies or specials, meaning it has less content then the Zero One or Ryuki releases at a more expensive price.

I can't imagine this is because of license fees, especially since the other three releases weren't this expensive (and Zero-One was a fairly recent show when it was first licensed, so I can't see that being a factor). I want more official Toku releases in the US, but I'm not supporting this.

It could be the more recent the series / license the more fees and costs are required.

Also here’s the annual official photo of the newest sentai team of this year ” boonboomger ” on the top of Toei studios
