"Happily Ever After" Live Commentary

Instant connection between Penny and Desmond.

Yup, I think Des is the "chosen one" to fix everything.

But I guess he goes with Sayid because he doesn't want to fix it! :p

So Desmond is going to try and kill all of the 815?

Seeing as how an almost death experience has been bringing on the 'memories', though the others have had 'hints' of the other time (Jack's appendix, Kate seeing Jack, Claire knowing Aaron is her baby's name, etc.)

And there it is...the bomb 'worked' :p

The sideways universe was a result of the bomb in 1977. And it's 'wrong' (I think we always knew it was a dumb plan by Jack)

We also saw the Island sunk under the ocean at the beginning of the season, so that help reaffirms it must have been the bomb that did that, perhaps in conjunction with the unique electromagnetic properties of the island it created an alternate universe!

I have this theory that maybe in that instant they switched bodies, now the alternative universe Desmond is in the real universe, and the other Desmond is in the alternative universe.

Which means NotLocke doesn't want him to fix it. Interesting. It's almost like there are 2 stories here. The Jacob vs MIB thing, and then this time travel/alternate universe thing. Presumably they're going to tie together at some point, but tonight's episode felt almost like a different series all together.

What did Desmond say to George at the very end? I couldn't hear it--too noisy here.

He wants the 815 manifest to 'show' them something, much like Charlie 'showed' him something :techman:

Maybe, unless our alternate universe Desmond also got a glimpse of the other universe in that instant he touched Penny's hand, hence the fainting, or they switched bodies, and he is going to show them something that isn't going to require a near death experience, heh

If they did switch, why did he need the manifest? Our Desmond would know exactly who to contact.

Good point, I'm probably over thinking it

The bomb was Daniel's plan.

So, Whidmore knows Desmond can handle the "power of the island" - in that he can go back and forth through both time and universes, but does he know his wife has a similar ability?

It was fun reading the comments while watching the show in my timezone....

I would of never figured I was right about something to do with LOST, there have been many curve balls in the past after all....

Wow, great ending! And Michael's back next week!
I know that skipping the "next time on Lost" previews is kind of unusual, and trying Really hard to not read the guest cast during the actual airing is even worse, but stupid little things like this are still spoilers. I guess promos don't count as spoilers around here, but if you can try to be a bit more considerate, it'd be much appreciated.

^ I don't think Eloise has any abilities, she just knew the future because of the time-travelling losties.

She knew all about Desmond and spoke to him in the episode where he was switching universes or time traveling or whatever he was doing when he turned the failsafe key.

She also knew about him last night when she warned him not to try to find what he was looking for.

I think she knows what's happening whatever the time line or universe or ... whatever.

LOL That greeting actually looked strained. I know it's supposed to look like they like each other but it seems the actors couldn't pull it off.

That was intentional. Desmond may be Widmore's right-hand man in this flash-sideways, but in no way are they friends who like each other.
