Hand Phasers & Phaser Rifles?

In TNG and the series that followed how long could the hand phasers be used before that ran out of power, did they have power packs like TOS hand phasers?
How many versions of the phaser rifle did Star Fleet have in use during TNG, DS9 and Voyager?
Which hand phaser do you like, TOS, TNG thru Voyager?
You can include TOS Movie phasers too!

Well, the TNG-era phasers had power packs, but they weren't REMOVABLE power packs.

Instead, the devices were stored in racks (including some in the transporter room) where they would be charged.

As for how many shots... that would be dependent on the power setting, of course. But the real answer is "as many as the story required."
