Welcome to the voting thread for the 240th Trek BBS Fan Art Forum Challenge!

Our Theme for June was "Ready, Aim, Fire At Will!" and described as:

Ready, Aim, Fire At Will!
We've seen all kinds of weapons on Trek - sticks and stones, various types of blades, and all manner of guns, projectile and phaser. Craft/depict your favorite Trek weapon, or design something brand new. Is it for attacking your enemies, defending your allies, or just looking cool? (Show us how it's used if it's not immediately obvious.)

Three combatants have entered the arena and chosen their armaments, but in this battle of art which will win? It's all up to you, target your favourite in the poll and the winner of July's challenge will earn our utmost respect and the honour of wearing the golden “Fan Art Challenge Winner” badge on their profile for the following month. 🏆 🎉

@B.J.
Created a Type 3 phaser rifle companion for the Type 2 phaser pistol that was introduced in ST6 (c.2287). A similar 2-handed design to the original TNG rifle (i.e. no shoulder stock), and also has exposed energy coils reminiscent of the TOS rifle.

@korblborp
Took inspiration from from 1960s weaponry to design a TOS-era phaser rifle.

i had startedwith the intent to make a decent approximation of the OG TOSphaser rifle, but then i remembered a comment i had made on Warped9's "Unseen TOS" thread about how the general layout reminded me of the Steyr Aug, and leaned into it. possibly a bit too hard.

Integrated optics, folding foregrip, ambidextrous selector with four settings: safe, stun, kill, disintegrate (indicator lights colored white, blue, amber, and red, respectively, with stun selected in the inset). stock pulls back and rotates to remove the panel covering the coils and remove the coils themselves.

Brings honor to your mealtime with a Klingon Spork.
