I've never really 'got' Halloween personally. I don't really get why it's such a big deal. I have gone to the odd Halloween party but mainly because I'm a sociable person and I like seeing my friends. Plus - any excuse for a couple of drinks.
However, I've never gone round trick or treating and I don't answer the door on Halloween. As it happens, I'm working tonight (and seeing some very interesting sights on CCTV), but I think future Halloweens might be different. My new girlfriend loves Halloween, as does her kids.
The most memorable Halloween was when Ghostwatch aired in 1992. It traumatised me for about a week but was one of the best TV mockumentaries I've ever seen. It was presented as a live broadcast from a haunted house gone wrong, and starred some well known TV presenters not known for acting (Michael Parkinson, Mike Smith, Sarah Greene, etc).
I'm more excited by Guy Fawkes Night and I'll be taking her and the boys to an organised display on Friday. Get the sparklers out.
