Guys (and girls too) need some advice.

Why not do a little research, find out what brand of chocolates/flowers/underwear she likes, and where she hangs out, and then 'unexpectedly' rock up there and surprise her with a gift. That would be sure to work.

It may be a wash. My roommate has (apparently) come to his senses and no longer thinks I should meet this girl. That she's a bitch and has a strong personality and would "chew me up and spit me out." A friend of mine (who once worked at that store as well) confirms what he says and that I'm better off forgetting about her.

Kind of sucks cause I was looking forward to meeting someone new. On the other hand I do have to live with him...and he in turn has to work with her, so if something went wrong I suppose that could make his life hell on both fronts.
Oh, so he's fucking her? I hate friends like that.

Doubtful. He's an honest guy, otherwise I wouldn't moved in with him. Not to mention he's a manager and so is she...and he's got his sights on another girl at his work anyways.

Yeah to me this just sounds like a "hey buddy I think she's cute can you hook me up" type of conversation and then go from there. This does happen all the time. I remember once a female co-worker telling me about a friend of hers and dropping in "oh if you weren't already seeing somebody she's the one I'd fix you up with". If you're not really confident with girls that can be bizarre to hear, but it is very common.

This story came to an abrupt conclusion. But fear not friends, another girl will come along, and I'm sure another thread will pop up from yours truly.

If you want to meet her, simply say, "It would be cool if you invited her over some time, I'd like to meet her." It's as simple as that. Don't build it up into anything bigger. You're just saying you like the idea of it so he knows. If he doesn't invite her, I wouldn't push. But, unless he's a mind reader, you'll need to tell him that you'd like it if he invited her. So, it's fair to mention it.

Edit: just saw the followup. Oh well, But, the point I raise is still valid. Don't be so overwrought. Nothing wrong with just stating what you'd like when it's so reasonable.

Yeah, I did mention I'd like to meet her. That's when he changed his attitude towards the thing.

Forget the get-her-into-the-apartment schemes; just arrange with your buddy to go over to his workplace some day on some innocent errand when she's there, like bringing him Jimmy John's or some shit, and have him introduce you..."Oh, hey, Susie, this is Aldo, my roommate...Aldo, this is Susie, the other manager." And that's your cue. "Hey, Susie, nice to meet you..."

Providing you don't begin drooling all over her and just maintain an aura of nonchalance, you'll be no threat. You're on her turf for a completely legitimate reason, she has a job to do and places to be and no reason to stick around long enough to catch a whiff of desperation (girls can smell desperation, you know, like dogshit), and you can evaluate her in person as opposed to by photograph and then decide on the next move, if indeed any. She might be a bitch to your buddy because he has to work with her, not because she is a bitch, and your mileage may vary.

Keep us posted.
